Decorating Your Home: A Straightforward Guide

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Considering a home overhaul? You’re not alone. The majority of us have spent a whole lot more time in our own properties over the past couple of years. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic saw times when we couldn’t leave our homes, and even with vaccines rolling out and restrictions easing, many of us still prefer our own properties where we can guarantee cleanliness and compliance with CDC recommendations. By decorating, you can tackle any problems you may have noticed in your home over recent months, or can simply make the space feel fresh and new. Here are some steps that can help you with this!

Plan In Advance
When you settle on decorating a room, it can be tempting to jump in the deep end and go straight ahead with it. Many of us get excited and want to see results as quickly as possible. But really, what you should do is plan each room out in advance. This will help to create more flow throughout your property, helping rooms to match together or to flow into one another more seamlessly. On top of this, planning in advance can help you to properly budget for all the changes you want to make, spreading your available money out and ensuring you don’t overspend to begin with, cutting your projects short. Pinterest boards, as well as a budget spreadsheet, can help you to get started in the right direction. Look at bedroom ideas, Laundry Room Decor Ideas, kitchen ideas, bathroom ideas and more.

Take Things One Room at a Time
Generally, it’s best to tackle one room at a time when decorating your property. All too many people partially finish one room, grow bored, move onto the next and so on. But this results in a mismatched property where nothing is truly complete. Instead, it’s much easier to place all your focus on one room, complete it properly and then move on. So, come up with a schedule that will allow you to dedicate sufficient time and care to each room you’re working on.

Prioritise Repairs
Noticed elements of your home that need some repair work carried out? Alternatively, you may discover some as you go along with your decorating process. Either way, if you do spot any repair jobs, it’s important that you tackle these head on. All too many people try to sweep them under the carpet, seeing them as a nuisance, something they’d rather not spend money on or deeming them “not that bad”. The issue is that, left long enough, small repairs can cause major damage or even prove to be hazards. Instead, call out relevant specialists with good reviews and recommendations to resolve the problem sooner rather than later. You’ll thank yourself in the long run.

These are just a few steps to help you get the ball rolling in the right direction with your home decoration. Now is a great time to get started, so why wait?

Picture-Perfect Outdoor Living Space Ideas For Exasperated Homeowners

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Getting your outdoor space right is a challenge. That’s because you have to want to spend your time there in all weathers. Sure - it’s good for the summer. But what about the rest of the year?

Get Outdoor Heaters
With fall on the way, temperatures are going to come down and going outside will feel a little chilly. When it comes to outdoor seating areas, most people don’t want to sit in big coats, shivering in their seats. They want to enjoy themselves, as if the weather is still warm.

Fortunately, you can get infrared heat lamps that help to keep your spaces nice and toasty. These emit a kind of red glow that warms the skin and allows you to use your outdoor areas year-round, without the need for a fire.

Add Alfresco Dining
Being able to eat outdoors is one of the perks of having an outdoor space. But it’ll only happen if you buy a suitable dining table and chairs set.

If you really want to entertain outside, you might also want to add a top-of-the-range stainless steel grill and under-counter refrigerator, plus a prep sink and plenty of cabinets. This way, you can cook and entertain your guests outside at the same time. \

Install Beautiful Furniture
Outdoor furniture has a bit of a reputation for being bland and dull. But it doesn’t have to be. Today, there are countless designers on the market, bringing the style of indoor furniture outside. Many modern options actually look similar to the tables and chairs that you’d find indoors with the exception that they can withstand the elements.

Use Torches As Your Lighting
If you want to keep the mosquitoes away on warm evenings, regular spotlights won’t suffice. You need real torches or mosquito repellent candles to keep the area insect-free.

When you keep insects away, your guests will appreciate it. They will spend more time enjoying their food and drink, and less time swatting annoying insects.

Keep Your Pool Clean
A pool full of leaves and debris isn’t attractive for anyone, so getting a pool service can help. By keeping your pool clean, you’ll encourage your guests to use it more, and you’ll make your entire outdoor space look more attractive.

Add A Hammock
Going to sleep on a regular outdoor sofa can be a little uncomfortable. But getting some shut-eye on a hammock is a totally different proposition. Adding a hammock gives you every excuse you could ever possibly want for spending all afternoon gently napping.

Build A Stone Oven
Stone ovens are a wonderful alternative to BBQs and allow you to cook all kinds of dishes, from pizzas to fish.

Usually, people custom-build their own stone ovens. They begin by making a sturdy base and then they create an oven space at around chest height. Then they add a chimney to the top, providing the fire inside with a fresh supply of oxygen.

The great thing about stone ovens is how hot they get. You can easily cook pizzas at 600 F, so long as you understand how these ovens work.

Add A Spa Bath
If you have a pool, you might also consider adding a spa bath section to it. Usually, this takes the form of a ring where you and your guests can sit down, relax and enjoy the sensation of bubbles.

Jacuzzis are also a great way to get you out into the garden more often. Water features enhance the appeal of your outdoor spaces.

Build A Garden Around It
Too often, outdoor living spaces look like building sites. You frequently see patios in the middle of lawns without any surrounding garden features.

This minimalist approach is a mistake in the garden. It makes your outdoor areas feel uninviting, encouraging you to stay away.

If you can, try adding colourful flowers and plants around the perimeter. Add a mix of shrubs, perennials and annuals. Stick with local flowers suited to your climate, otherwise you’ll have to work much harder to keep them alive and in good health.

Make It More Private
Lastly, you’ll want to look for ways to make your outdoor space more private. Adding a parasol is a cheap but effective option that keeps you out of sight of prying eyes. More elaborate solutions include putting up a privacy wall or installing a permanent roof.

Even if there is nobody around and you live in the middle of nowhere, creating privacy can help to make your outdoor spaces more appealing. You’re much more likely to feel cosy and relaxed when you have shade.

Want To Improve Your Net Worth? Here's How To Increase Your Home's Value

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Most people have thought about renovating or upgrading their homes in some way. That could be for various reasons, such as wanting to increase their net worth or simply to have more space. Regardless, the process can be more complicated than you’d think.

If you want to increase your home’s value but want to enjoy any renovations you have, then you could wonder what your options are. There are a few things that you should focus on if you want to tick both checkmarks.

How To Increase Your Home’s Value

Add Some Extra Spaces
The larger your home is, the more you can expect it to sell for. That doesn’t just mean adding a few extra rooms. That’s because different types of extensions can bring in more interest from buyers. It’s one thing to have an outdoor shower enclosure, it’s another to have a patio that goes completely around your house.

If you have an unfinished attic or garage, then it’s worth finishing these off. When you’re doing so, you could consider turning them into another room. An extra bedroom or living room will lead to a sizable bump in your home’s value. That should be enough to justify the cost of the renovations.

Invest In Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency has become increasingly prominent in the home market. Potential homebuyers put a lot of emphasis on this for multiple reasons. Being environmentally friendly is one of the more notable. If your home isn’t energy efficient, then it’ll sell for much lower than you’d expect.

To overcome this, switch to energy-efficient appliances. While these used to be expensive, they’re now quite affordable, as they’re much more commonly bought than they used to be. Any old electricals should also be replaced, while any cracks or holes in your walls should be filled.

Your windows, doors, and other areas can also be something to look at and should be quite affordable to bring up to certain energy-saving standards.

Upgrade Your Bathroom & Kitchen
There are certain areas that homebuyers pay attention to when inspecting and comparing homes. The most common of these are the bathroom and kitchen, which makes them prime areas to focus on.

Upgrading your bath, cooking equipment, and other features can make a large difference in your property’s value. Even upgrading the small finishes could be enough to increase your home’s value.

Wrapping Up
Renovating your home, especially to increase its overall market value, can be a stressful process. It’s one thing if you already know how to increase your home’s value. It’s quite another to implement these changes, as you’ll need to hire contractors and look after many other areas.

Once that’s done, however, you should feel a lot of relief, alongside some excitement for using your renovations and extensions. If you can’t afford all of the above, try doing them over the long term. That approach can be seen as more of an investment in your retirement, as you can sell the property for a sizable profit before retiring.

What isn’t to love about increasing your home’s value?

Hi lovelies,

Being eco-friendly means living in a way that is not harmful to the environment. This lifestyle is becoming more important. It is essential for us to protect our planet from as much man-made damage as possible. There are many ways you can make sustainable changes to become more eco-friendly in various areas of your life.

It can be anything from a small change such as using a reusable water bottle, to a bigger investment, such as looking for a solar installer near me and making the switch to renewable energy in your home. If you don’t know where to start, it can be hard to make meaningful changes. So, let’s have a look at some of the ways you can be more eco-friendly in your everyday life:

Making Your Home More Environmentally Friendly
While your home may not contribute as much pollution as a corporation, there are many ways a homeowner can make their house more eco-friendly. It is essential for us all to make changes wherever possible. Your home is something you have control over, so it’s easier to make some changes including:

  • Investing in renewable energy for electricity

  • Switch your heating source

  • Use eco-cleaning products to clean your home

  • Use eco-friendly toilet paper

  • Recycle as much as possible

  • Create a compost bin for your food waste

  • Use water conservation tools

  • Reduce your water waste

  • Change your lights and light bulbs

  • Turn off any unused technology

  • Never use standby mode

Making changes like the ones above can have a huge impact on your and your family’s contributions to pollution into our natural environment. Now that living a greener lifestyle is more important than ever for many people, you may find that making these sorts of changes can also add value to your home. If you are worried about investing in your home becoming more green make sure you look for any grants or green schemes that are running in your area or country at the moment. You may be able to get some or all of the cost back for the changes you need. Not only this but using solar panels, changing your electricity and heating supplies can all help to reduce your utility bills.

Being More Eco-Friendly In Your Everyday Routine
Your usual routine will be jam-packed with subconscious actions that are part of your everyday life. Most of these actions aren’t always the most environmentally-friendly option available. It only takes a few small changes to make your habits more eco-friendly. They will also be sustainable throughout a longer period of time so that the change can easily become a new good habit including:

  • Using a recyclable eco-friendly water bottle

  • Reusable and portable water bottle

  • Reusable coffee cup for your morning coffee

  • Environmentally friendly shampoo and conditioner

  • Environmentally friendly deodorant

  • Use recyclable paper for printing and for gift wrapping

  • Replace your petrol or diesel car with an environmentally friendly electric or hybrid

  • Buy from brands that use recycled and sustainable materials

  • Use a reusable straw

  • Use biodegradable products

  • Eat less meat in your diet

This list is by no means extensive, however, these are all great places to start if you want to start being more environmentally friendly in your everyday life. It’s becoming easier to make these changes too. Long gone are the days where you would have limited choice for the type of water bottle you would like or only have one or two choices of cleaning product. Instead, you can now see many different options on the market, and more are being added all the time.

How To Be More Eco-Conscious At Work
Your eco-friendly effort doesn’t need to be limited ot your home. There is a variety of things you can do as an employee to minimize environmental damages in their workplace. Many of them such as using a reusable water bottle, eco-friendly cleaning products for your desk, and recycling as much as possible are similar to what you will do in your home. Some of the things you should consider include:

  • Watching how much you print on paper - do you really need to use it or can you use a digital copy?

  • Less driving on your daily commute - could you walk, cycle, or use public transport instead of using your car?

  • Be mindful of your electricity consumption- make sure you turn off your screen and turn off lights if you are the last to leave a room.

  • Reduce, reuse, and recycle wherever possible

  • Use reusable food containers for your lunch and snacks

Traveling More Sustainably
More people than ever before are traveling across the globe. There is only one downside to frequent traveling, the increase in air pollution. Travel may have become more attainable, but we need to do as much as we can to make sure it is sustainable and travel as green as possible. You should:

  • Unplug anything not needed before you travel

  • Donate your perishable foods

  • Be mindful of how many times you use housekeeping and change your towels

  • Think about alternative transport such as a coach or car

  • Pack Light

  • Research the hotels view to being green

  • Use eco-friendly travel products such as reusable water bottles and reusable toiletry bottles.

  • Think about the activities you do while on your trip

  • Use local shops

How To Make School More Environmentally Friendly
There are many things that parents can do to ensure that their kids are environmentally friendly at school. Whether it’s walking to school or ensuring that they are given environmentally friendly school supplies. Inspiring kids, while they are at school, could lead to them being more likely to do it as an adult.

  • Donate old uniforms to other families or reuse them for younger children

  • Use containers, not paper bags

  • Use reusable lunch boxes

  • Invest in electronic devices and get rid of the paper

  • Think about the transport to and from school - could you walk or cycle on the school run?

This short guide should help you to become more eco-friendly in your everyday life. Do you have any other tips that could help? Please share them in the comments section below.

Keeping Your Relationship Strong Through Thick & Thin

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Whenever you are in a relationship of any kind, it is always best to approach it in a manner where you are trying to put as much personal effort into it as possible. If you can do that, you should find that it radically alters and improves the manner in which you go about things in that relationship, and ultimately it is going to make it easier for you to get along, and keep things going strong.

In this post, we are going to take a look at just some of the things you can do to ensure that you are keeping your relationship strong through thick and thin. As long as you do the following, that is going to be a lot easier and simpler, and you should find that you can get so much more out of it, together.

Know Your Love Languages
You have probably heard plenty in recent years about love languages, and it really is something that you are going to want to be aware of if you want your relationship to grow and flourish. A love language is simply a way of understanding how you approach the many aspects of love, and it is something that can help you to improve how you communicate with your partner and how you spend time with them.

There are many love languages, and it’s all open to interpretation, but you should at least try to know about the major ones that are out there, so you can work out which you might be and which your partner might be. It is best if you do this all together, of course. Once you think you have this figured out, it’s the kind of thing that you can start introducing into your relationship by degrees. Over time, it could save the both of you a lot of trouble, and bring you closer together.

Do Things Together & Do Things Apart
Most people these days realise that it is actually very healthy to have some things that you do with your partner, and some things that you do alone or with other people like your friends. If you ever find that you have an imbalance between these two types of activities, then that can drastically alter how you experience your relationship, and you’ll probably find that you are going to want to look into getting this right wherever possible.

It doesn’t really matter what you are doing together and what you are doing apart, but having both in your life is going to make it so much easier to enjoy being in a relationship while also having enough of your alone time. It breathes fresh life into the relationship while also encouraging you both to be independent people, which is itself an important feature in any strong relationship too. If you think you might be lacking with one or the other of these, it’s time to take matters into your own hands and start planning some activities. Soon enough, it will pay off.

Buy Each Other Gifts
At the start of a relationship, gift-giving might happen quite frequently. But over time, this will inevitably lessen, until you find that it has been ages since you last received or gave a gift with your love. Gifts are actually a very powerful and important thing for you to try and make use of, however, because they are a way of showing each other that you both still care very much about the other person.

The best gifts are those that are very thoughtful, in that they show how well you know the other person, and that you know what they might be in need of - especially if it’s something they don’t feel capable of buying for themselves. For instance, you might know that your partner is partial to the occasional cigar, in which case you’ll want to find a montecristo no 2 review and go from there. It’s all about getting them something meaningful and special, so that they can see how much you appreciate them.

You can’t control whether or not your partner buys you gifts, of course, but in a healthy relationship, this will happen organically at least some of the time.

Keep Money Out Of It
Generally, relationships which focus on money too much only end up making this a central aspect to their relationship, and that is something that can only really lead one way. You will find that your relationships are so much more fulfilling and enduring when you leave money out of the equation altogether. In other words: don’t allow money to determine your value to the other person, and do all you can not to make it the central point in any argument. It’s necessary to talk about money when you live together and share a life, but treat it as something different to the actual relationship itself.

While it can take a while to get this attitude down, it is well worth doing so for the huge benefits that it brings. You’ll find it’s a much more satisfying life altogether, and that you and your partner are much happier together on the whole.

Relax Around Sex
Most of us have some kind of hang-ups when it comes to sex and sexuality. If you want to have a relationship that lasts, however, you are going to want to relax around the whole sex issue altogether as best as you can. The more effectively the both of you do that, the more likely it is that you are going to be able to keep things going strong, and that is something that you are certainly going to want to aim for. Have as much or as little sex as the both of you desire, and never make it the central point of the relationship - unless that is explicitly what you are both in it for, of course.

If you can do all that, your relationship should last a lot longer and should be much more satisfying as well.

How to Sell Your Home for More Money

Candy Washington1 Comment

Hi lovelies,

When the time comes to sell your house, then one thing that you are going to want to do is ensure that you can sell your real estate for as much money as possible. This is likely to feel like something that you don’t have much control over, but the truth is, you do.

The internet is full of tips to sell your home that are useful at getting people interested, but it’s also important to know that you can do many things to make sure that your property sells for the maximum money possible, and here are some top tips to help you with that aspect of the sale:

Work with an expert
While you may want to try and sell your home yourself (especially if this means that you can save yourself some money), this means that you are going to have a lot more work to do. Not just that, but when you work with an expert, you will also be able to ask them how you can maximize your sale and make sure that you get the most money possible for your home.

Price is key
One key thing that an expert can help you with is pricing your home. Figuring out the right price that you can sell your property for is more complicated than you realize. You are going to want to get the best price possible, but this needs to be balanced with a price that people will be tempted by.

Not only can a high price put off potential viewers and buyers because it is out of their price range, but a lower price can too. They may wonder what is wrong with it and not even take a look. Not just this, but if they do and they offer the property, it may be too low, and you risk losing money.

Repair as best you can
While you are selling your home as it stands, this doesn’t mean that you should ignore some of its issues. Especially if they are things you can fix, take the time before you start the selling process to think about the key things you can repair within your home.

The chances are that if you notice that there is something wrong, then so will a potential buyer, and it could be the smallest of things that then either put them off buying or want to reduce their offer. This is particularly true if you have some aesthetic issues within the property.

Sell at the right time.
You may not realize it, but the time of year you are selling your property can impact how much money you can get. The best time to sell property is in early spring, as this is when you are likely to see the quickest sale and get the best price possible for your property.

It is also worthwhile knowing when is the worst time to sell, which is usually around key seasonal events (think Thanksgiving and Christmas) and during the summer break.

Learn to negotiate
An essential technique that you need to learn when selling your property is negotiation, as this can help you get the best offer possible. Negotiation is a delicate balance to try and achieve as you will want to make sure that you get the best price, but you always want to keep the buyer interested.

You need to realize that there will be several backward and forwards conversations when it comes to selling a property, and this means that you need to be as patient as possible.

Curb appeal is key
While you should never judge a book by its cover, it is hard to ignore some cosmetic issues when looking at a potential house to buy. Curb appeal is one of these things; essentially, it covers how your home looks from the outside.

The outside of your property is the first thing people will see when they come to view, so you want to make the right first impression. Make sure that your lawn is presentable and that your door looks as good as it can. These simple touches can make a difference and increase how much you can ask for the property too.

Be patient
Selling a house takes time, and while you will want to move through the process as quickly as you can, it pays to be patient. With patience, you can wait for the right price to come in for your home, which, more often than not, is not going to be the first offer that you receive.

You may even find that if you can wait a little longer, you may get two interested parties (or even more if you are lucky), and you can make the most money possible.  Compare this to rushing in and accepting a much too low offer just because it is the first one that you receive and it makes sense to wait.

Tidy and organize
One of the simplest things that you can do to maximize the price you can receive for your property is to take the time to tidy and organize the space. There are two key benefits to this. The first is that it ensures that your home is presented in the best light possible, that the people who are coming to view it are going to see it as a place that they want to live.

It also means that your home will be much neater and more organized when moving, making the moving process that much easier to get through, especially when it comes to packing and ensuring that everything is boxed up and ready to go.

No matter the house that you are trying to sell or how much you are going to want to try and make, there are plenty of things that you can do to maximize your profit. Some of them are more straightforward than others; however, every one of them is worthwhile doing and can make all the difference to how much money you can expect to receive for your property when the time comes to sell up and move on.

Designing A Home That Supports Your Self-Care Routine

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

If you want to improve your overall wellbeing, you need to look at all areas of your life. There are a lot of physical changes you can make, like exercising more and improving your diet. But have you looked around your home and considered how it might be affecting your mental health? In some cases, your home could be getting in the way of your self-care routine and creating negativity in your life. But when you set your home up in the right way, it can help you improve your outlook on life and be happier.

When you are in a comfortable environment, surrounded by things that bring you joy, your stress levels will be much lower. Things like lighting make a huge difference too and brightly lit rooms have even been shown to reduce depression. Having plants and greenery around the home also has a very positive effect. It’s important that you think about these details and make a few simple changes around your home to support your self-care routine. Here’s how you can create the perfect home for self-care.

Focus On Comfort
Your home should always be somewhere that you feel comfortable and relaxed. Even if there is a lot of stress outside, you need a refuge to retreat to, so you should always focus on comfort when designing your home. Get as many soft furnishings in the home as possible and go for carpets instead of hardwood. If you opt for carpet installation, your home will always be warm and welcoming. Get lots of nice cushions and blankets around too, and create lots of seating areas for people to relax. Designing a comfortable home will immediately put you at ease when you step through the door, so you can leave stress behind.

Introduce More Lighting Options
Light has a big impact on the way that a space feels, and you need lots of different options so you can adapt the space depending on how you feel. During the day, it’s important to get lots of natural light in and create an open space. However, in the evenings, you may want to shut the world out and create a more relaxed atmosphere. Some nice lamps to create low lighting are the perfect way to achieve this. If the house is too bright at night, you will struggle to unwind and sleep well, so low lighting is crucial.

Use Scents
Engaging all of your senses in your home environment makes it a more engaging space. This is something that we all think about when decorating, but people forget about scents. Using an essential oil diffuser to create a nice smell in the home can make it so much more welcoming. Specific scents like lavender are great for relaxing and reducing stress too. After a hard day, coming home to a home that smells amazing will instantly boost your mood.

Managing your self-care routine is so hard if your home is not comforting, so make these simple design changes to improve your wellbeing.

Important Developmental Milestones in Your Baby’s First Years

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Important Developmental Milestones in Your Baby’s First Years

You already heard your baby's first cry, grimace, and experienced a whole lot of first things right after their birth. Research indicates that about 14% of babies worldwide don’t hit these milestones due to underlying conditions, with the US accounting for 4%. Developmental milestones are a strong indicator of progressive growth and excellent health. As a new mother, do not be disturbed when your infant fails to hit a milestone in a particular month. While children grow at different rates, it helps to know what to look for. Therefore, find out on this page what these milestones are and what they mean for your bundle of joy.

First month
The first month of your baby's life is a time of rapid development because they double up their birth weight in this period. Of course, that will depend on the quality of feeds you give them. It may look like all your tot does in the first month is sleep, eat, cry, and soil their diapers. However, more things are happening that you must watch out for. For instance, babies will make several attempts to put a fist or a finger in their mouths in the first four weeks. They may even suck on them if they're successful at it.

Additionally, your baby should flinch at sudden loud sounds around them. It is a great way to determine they have perfect hearing. Moreover, they should focus on objects brought to their face within a distance of eight to twelve feet. Another subtle milestone you should look for is how your baby reacts to bright lights. Although this is an unconscious reflex, you will know that your infant's eyesight is good when they suddenly close their eyes when the lighting is too bright. Keep in mind that their reflexes are still developing, even though most are already there.

Third month
You should be happy If your baby attempts to lift their head when lying on their tummies. These are the early signs of head control, indicating that their neck muscles are getting stronger. When your baby is not sleepy, they should also be able to kick or stretch their legs and arms, whether on their backs or tummies. You will also notice a tremendous reduction in how often they make a fist. Newborn babies tend to ball their fists due to neurologic reflexes.

It is merely instinctive, but by the third month, they should be able to clench and unclench their fists at will. According to neurologists, this indicates your baby's gradual transition from the curled-up position in the womb.

Indeed, some babies can even grab toys from peoples’ hands and shake them. However, you don't have to worry if yours isn't doing it yet. Another exciting milestone you will love to see is when your baby can follow moving objects with their eyes. Eye-hand coordination indicates a developing brain and, of course, healthy vision and visual field. Furthermore, experts say your baby memorizes your face as they stare intently at your face. Indeed, babies will do the same with faces they cannot recognize. Again, they will smile, babble, and even follow playful patterns with their parents. Although an 8 month old baby will show more of these milestones, experts say subtle signs begin in the third month.

Sixth month
Your baby is likely to sit up briefly without support in their sixth month. You're most likely to notice an increase in baby sounds such as cooing and babbling. A unique sound you will hear from now onwards is playful raspberries. Blowing raspberries are delightful sounds parents love to hear and never seem to get enough of. At this point, some babies recognize playing and will show displeasure (by crying or rapid wild movements) when it stops. However, when you resume play, they get excited again.

Once again, this is due to rapid neurological development, and it shows your baby's ability to recognize fun. The American Academy of Pediatrics believes babbling is the foundation of speech development and contributes to language development. Some babies can also identify their names and turn in the direction of the sound.

Seventh to the eighth month
The developmental milestones in these two months are in quick succession. Experts say if infants miss one milestone in the seventh month, it will happen in their eighth month, coupled with several other highlights. For example, babbling of consonant sounds (repeated ba-ba-ba) and supporting weight on legs when put on a flat surface are some things you will notice. Furthermore, your child will be able to move small items from one hand to the other.

They will show significant interest in their reflection in the mirror and may even extend their hands in an attempt to touch the reflected image.

Peek-a-boo games are exciting at this stage. Remember that the foundation for this began in the third month, as stated earlier. Moreover, do not be surprised to see them roll over from the tummy position to the back and vice versa. Some babies do this even earlier, but the main point is never to leave them unprotected on an elevated platform (changing table, couch, bed, etc.). If all goes well, your baby should be able to sit up from a sleeping position.

Tenth month
Exploration and experimenting dominate this developmental milestone. You will notice your ten-month-old banging toys against furniture or any surface they can find. The noise that they make seems to provide a thrill for them. What’s more, it is normal when your child repeatedly drops a toy into a container and picks it up each time. These are all part of the experimenting and exploration stage. Remember that they're mobile now and can crawl all over the place or 'cruise'- walking while holding on to sturdy objects like furniture for support.

Even better, they should be able to eat finger foods on their own, wave 'bye-bye' and shake their heads to say 'no.' One sign to take note of is when your ten-month-old begins to mimic sounds they hear. It's a different thing when they react to sudden loud sounds. However, when they attempt to mimic sounds they hear, it shows how rapidly advanced their auditory functions have become.

In addition to this, you will most likely hear the 'mama' and 'dada' calls to draw your attention. Indeed, at this stage, babies recognize their parents, siblings, and other people they see regularly. Separation anxiety will also be at its highest this month. Don't worry, though, because these are developmental milestones your child must hit within the first year.

Eleven to twelve months
The American Pediatric Society says about 70% of babies begin to walk by their first birthday. But there's nothing to worry about if yours hasn't done so yet. Some kids delay these developments but may not significantly prove that there is an underlying medical condition. However, if your child hasn't walked unsupported by eighteen months, the medical world will term it delayed development, requiring further investigation. It could be a pure case of heredity if one or both parents were late bloomers.

As a parent or primary caregiver, the best thing is to speak with a professional if you're concerned about your child not hitting vital developmental milestones. Even though the points discussed here are standard guidelines, the dynamics are different for preterm babies.

Watching your baby grow is thrilling for parents, making it imperative to monitor the process. Hopefully, you’ll be able to determine your child’s development rate as you consider these milestones.

Every Girls Guide To DIY Remodelling

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

So, you have “that” space in your home or apartment and you know exactly what you want to do with it.  Now, if only you had an awesome budget to get some vision-board quality contractors in to do it for you.  But...what if you didn’t them?

Here’s your cheat sheet to do you, while you do DIY.

#1 BE REALISTIC
Go ahead.  Dream big and load that vision board with all of your favourite images for your project, update your “Pinterest” whenever you see anything that tickles you but at the end of the day, keep it real ladies unless you’re a “1 percenter”, you’re going to need to know what you want versus what you can afford and where you can cut corners, without cutting style or safety.

#2  MANAGING EXPECTATIONS
You need to find the magic centre of the “triangle of expectation”.  So, you can have it fast and quality - but it won’t be cheap, or you can have it cheap and fast but you won’t get quality or you can have it quality and cheap - but it won’t be fast,  and that’s the one you really want because not only will you fit squarely into the “delayed gratification” check box, you’ll have more freedom to change your mind along the way should your personal situation change.

#3  YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING.  (ALMOST).
Unless you are from the background that’s equipped you with the skills you need to rewire your apartment or make sure that your construction is up to code, ladies - you’re going to need to call in specialists for certain functions.  Think, commercial plumbing services for when you want to remodel your office or workspace for example.  As a matter of fact, think about home plumbing for when you’re doing it at home.

#4 GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM YOUR FRIENDS
Ok “Wonder Woman”, no one doubts you and you shouldn’t doubt you either but there’s a big difference between doing wallpaper and having to tear down drywall or pour concrete and if you can’t afford specialists then ask around.  Your friends are a great resource and if they don’t have the skills you need, they may know the person who does.  Know thyself - you’ll be glad.

#5  START SMALL, START SMART
Start with what you know you can do and don’t expect it to be done in a day.  There’s a reason why remodelling fits into the category of “the most stressful things that you can do”.  It’s right up there with divorce or changing your career, so take some time to work in some self-care during this process.

So start with what you know you can do and work from there.

Ok, so this post makes it sound easy and it isn’t.  But, that doesn’t mean it has to be hard either and there are libraries of resources online and plenty of guides for you to call on to get you started and always remember to have fun, laugh when things go wrong and definitely get some paint on your face.

Start Afresh: You Can Leave Your Old Life Behind

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Addiction Treatment programs, in general, can be attended in one of two ways: inpatient drug rehab or outpatient rehabilitation. Although the same focus is on rehabilitation, each type has unique attributes and benefits. The Inpatient rehabilitation program requires hospitalization and is a program designed by a medical professional team to treat severe addiction. Outpatient rehabilitation is a part-time program that allows the survivors to continue working or studying during the day.

It is important for drug users and their loved ones to understand the differences before choosing treatment options. Finding the right treatment plan can put you or your loved one on the road to sobriety.

Inpatient Rehabilitation and Treatment
Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, also known as Inpatient Treatment, requires patients to perform a self-exam in a controlled setting to overcome drug addiction. Patients receive 24-hour medical and emotional support at the clinic.

Preparation for hospital rehabilitation
Proper preparation for rehabilitation is very important. There is no set time to prepare for treatment. It is important to set an entry date for rehabilitation and solve the problem before that date.

Some things to pay attention to before entering the rehabilitation center include:

  • Talk to your employer

  • Arrange accommodation for your child or other family members

  • Plan how to travel to and from the rehabilitation center

In just 30 days in the rehabilitation center, you can expect to clean up and detoxify, start treatment, join a support group, and learn ways to control cravings and prevent relapse.

Family contact and support during inpatient rehabilitation
Successful hospital clinics know that family involvement is essential for rehabilitation. Family members can seek emotional support and encouragement from relatives in the hospital.

The methods of communication or contact between residents and their families are determined by the policies of each center. Counseling for the relatives of drug addicts is offered at some of the facilities.

Daily life during the inpatient rehabilitation period
During hospital treatment, the inpatient can fully concentrate on rehabilitation, remain sober, and not be disturbed by daily life challenges. A typical hospital stay is carefully planned and considered. Psychologists, counselors, and psychiatrists meet with patients individually and in groups to guide inpatient rehabilitation. A typical inpatient program lasts from 4 weeks to 6 months.

The first step of recovery
The first step in hospitalization is physician-assisted detoxification. When the drug is removed from the system, doctors and addiction specialists monitor the patient's vital signs. The craving for drugs is common in the detoxification process, it is difficult to overcome and usually leads to a relapse. Providing ongoing medical care during hospitalization helps prevent a recurrence. A doctor can provide the necessary medications and medical expertise to reduce cravings and withdrawal.

Over time and frequent use, the brain responds differently to different addictive substances. The withdrawal symptoms of any drug are not pleasant, but some drug withdrawal attempts should not be done without medical supervision. Some withdrawals can be fatal. Fatal withdrawal is related to drugs such as synthetic opioids, benzodiazepines, alcohol, and heroin. During the recovery period in the hospital, patients can get 24-hour medical services. This type of care can distinguish between relapse and recovery.

Leave your old life behind and start afresh.

Become a Better Cook: How to Avoid Common Mistakes

Hi lovelies,

Cooking is a skill that takes time to perfect. Therefore, avoid making any common mistakes when learning how to become a better cook. This blog post will share some of the most common mistakes you can make when learning how to cook and offer simple solutions.

Not Reading The Entire Recipe

Always take the time to read through a recipe before you start cooking. So that you are in control of what goes into your dish and help prevent accidents. You can follow easy instructions on websites like Barrio Queen Authentic Mexican Food Avondale to learn a great recipe.

Using Smaller Equipment

Use the exact size of equipment as a recipe prescribes. If not, then your dish might come out tasting differently, and it may be too wet or dry. You can find this on Cooking Light, among other great tips.

Not Prepping The Ingredients

If you don't prep your ingredients ahead of time, you'll be in the kitchen trying to prepare everything for dinner and won't have enough time. It's much better to take the extra fifteen minutes or so on a Sunday afternoon to chop up all of your veggies than fifteen minutes before guests arrive.

Using A Dull Knife

If your knife isn't sharp, it's tough and time-consuming to prepare anything with precision or care. A dull knife wastes more time than necessary because of how much work goes into cutting things up.

Constantly Fiddling With The Food As It Cooks

You might find yourself constantly turning your food over or stirring it, but this can dry out the dish. Therefore, wait for as long as possible before you mix so that all of the juice stays inside.

Skipping The Seasoning

Seasoning adds extra flavor and boldness! In particular, salt is vital as it can alter a recipe if you don't use enough of it or overdo it. The last thing you want is for the food to come out bland and unappetizing.

Not Tasting The Dish Before You Serve It

You want to taste your meal so that you can adjust any spices or seasonings if necessary to prevent the dish from coming out too salty, sour, sweet, or anything else. You can find some great recipes to try from the blog Cook Smarter Not Harder!

Pouring The Wrong Amount Of Salt Or Sugar

Some ingredients require more than others to balance out flavors, so you must know the exact measurements for each dish. If you pour too little, then your food will be bland and not have any taste at all. So be sure to measure all your ingredients.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, cooking is a skill that takes a lot of time to perfect. Making mistakes when you're learning can lead to some disastrous dinners where the food comes out inedible and wasted! But by avoiding these common errors listed here, then you'll be on your way to becoming a better cook with no problem at all.

Can Artificial Flowers Be As Good As The Real Thing?

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Nothing quite says ‘I love you’ like handing someone a bunch of flowers. But is it important if they are real or not? As much as natural flowers may seem like the better option at first, ultimately artificial flowers can be just as romantic a gesture.

To compare the two, you have to ask yourself where the romance in the act actually stems from. Is it the smell of the flowers? Is it the beautiful colours they come in? Is it the fact that they were grown in the ground, watered for a number of weeks or months then handpicked, stuffed in a plant bag, and wrapped in a bow? All these things are nice on the face of it, but they’re not the reason why a person is happy to receive a fresh bunch of flowers or artificial flowers. What matters, in the end, is the thought that goes into the act, the fact that you’ve been considerate towards your better half and gone out of your way to buy them a beautiful gift to make them happy.

However, this is not to say that artificial flowers are no good! There are some incredible and beautiful artificial flower providers that create pieces that look just as good as the real thing. There are some great advantages that are associated with this. Firstly, it means your loved one has a gift that will last forever, rather than something that will die within a week. Not only this, but artificial flowers are so easy to maintain, and so they don’t require care from the person in question. Just like outdoor performance fabric, you want to do everything in your power to ensure your garden looks incredible with minimal effort.

Choosing artificial flowers with care to make sure they look as good as the real thing
As is the case with most things in life, you will have good quality products and you will have poor quality products. This is why you need to take the time to assess your options carefully so that you can choose the perfect artificial flowers for your home.

The first thing you should do is look at the material that is used to create the flowers. Silk is a good option if you want to opt for something that is luxurious and has a realistic vibe to it.

Aside from this, we would recommend that you take the time to read reviews that have been left by people who have purchased flowers from the company in question before. This is a great way to find out how realistic the flowers look. Moreover, a lot of customers tend to post their own photographs, which can be very helpful when making your decision on what to buy.

You can even use artificial flowers to brighten up a space like a large warehouse
Most people who look into buying artificial flowers only intend to get one or two, which is understandable if you’re sprucing up a garden. But for those who have their eyes on bigger projects, a bulk purchase may be necessary. Brightening up a large warehouse is one of those cases.

Often seen as dusty, cold storage areas, warehouses can also be used for a variety of events from beer festivals to business exhibitions, as well as day-to-day working practice. Yet even when hosting large numbers of visitors at events such as these, these buildings still tend to maintain that spacious sense of emptiness. This is where artificial hanging baskets can help. Nothing is better placed to liven up a dull room than the sight of green leaves, red geraniums, pink fuchsia, and a range of other flowers and greenery.

Hanging from every entrance and suspended at every stall, these artificial hanging basket flowers can bring a sense of plant and flower life to the room whatever it’s being used for. Not only that, but the familiar and comforting image that reams of drooping ivy and a series of burgundy blooms can provide enables visitors to relax, calming the entire atmosphere of the building.

And once all of these flower benefits have been realized, the convenience of opting to buy silk artificial flowers over their natural plant counterparts is that they can be used again, and again, and again. All the building’s owner needs to do is store them in a locker room and wait for the next exhibition, festival or workday to start, shipping each plant’s accessories basket away with the rest of the furniture.

Wines: Which Ones Are The Most Popular In United States

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

There are hundreds of grape varieties, and most of them are used in winemaking. However, not all grape wines are equally cherished by wine lovers.

In this article, we have compiled a list of the most famous wine varietals in the US.

We won't waste any more of your time with some more jargon. So, let's get straight to the topic at hand.

White Wine Varietals

Chardonnay
Beginning our countdown with the most famous wine varietal in America, Chardonnay is a white wine. It may come as medium o full-bodied white wine, depending upon where it is grown.

The best Chardonnay is usually oaked and aged to give a buttery flavor.

Other variations may include crisp fruit flavors combined with citric aromas and spices.

Riesling
The flagship wine in Germany, Riesling, is initially grown in the Rhine Valley.

It is usually perceived as sweet and acidic with the first hint. But as the taste is developed, oenophiles can experience honey flavors and minerality.

Proudly paired with spicy Asian curries or fat-rich foods like pork, Riesling is undoubtedly the second-best suitable for all occasions.

Pinot Grigio
Typically Italian white wine - Pinot Grigio, can be best described as dry and refreshing.

The wine is usually light in color with hints of crispy fruits like apples and pear.

A common variation to the cultivation style producing floral aromas is usually known as Pinot Gris. And it is also equally popular across America.

Note: To enjoy the best combinations of all the wines, you can sign up for a wine subscription service and keep your cellar filled with the varietals all the time.

Red Wine Varietals

Cabernet Sauvignon
Also known as the gem of Napa Valley, this full-bodied red wine is often described as rich and robust.

It is typically aged in French oak barrels to give it dark fruity flavors and an earthy aroma.

Pair it with a juicy steak or any other red meat for perfect evening flavors.

Pinot Noir
A light medium-bodied red wine made out of grapes from colder climates, Pinot Noir, is a smooth and fruit-forward red wine.

Pinot Noir has the aroma of red fruits, such as cherry, and hints of spices and earthy tones.

It is best paired with wild game or veal.

Syrah
This bold and rich red wine has notes of dark fruits, pepper, and other spices.

It is also known as Shiraz in Australia and shares a much sweeter, jam-like flavor with its American counterpart.

However, both versions are rich in fruity flavors that perfectly blend with hearty and rich meat dishes, especially venison.

Most wineries or wine-serving outlets in America will have these wines, no matter what. However, there are many other great flavors and varietals beyond the list mentioned here.

It would be for the best if you can taste them all and then decide your flavors.

Every region, cultivation practice, and climatic condition has an influence on the final yield. This is also why wine is such a fascinating beverage globally.

Bringing Sustainability to Your Self-Care

Candy WashingtonComment
Screenshot 2021-07-19 142310.png

Hi lovelies,

No matter what situation you find yourself in, self-care comes first. You come first. As a woman, there's every reason to realize this on time so you can make your own positive choices towards your happiness. Caring for your mind and body is vital for your all-around wellness.

And as a woman also, beauty means a lot, if not everything. Knowing you look ravishing has a positive impact on your self-confidence. But while you're at it, it's a great idea to consider the sustainability and eco-friendliness of your choices.

From your choice of outfit to the makeup you wear, there are so many products that can harm you as well as Mother Earth. You don't want to develop acne, skin irritation, and other negative skin reactions for using synthetic beauty products. And synthetic beauty products and clothing can leave your carbon footprint all over the place.

Not to worry; you can still have your self-care through sustainable choices.

Clean beauty and skincare
Want to look beautiful without harming yourself or your environment? The sustainable industry has made that possible. Clean beauty and skincare products are now produced as substitutes to synthetic and toxic organic products.

Remember, not all beauty products that are natural or organic are "clean." Some of these contain toxic substances that create unpleasant side effects. A clean product is any cosmetic sustainably produced with zero toxic ingredients. They are produced with a focus on your health and that of the environment.

By going clean beauty, you can do your self-care without worrying about skin reactions or hurting your environment.

Sustainable fashion
Did you know that about 8 metric tons of plastic enter our oceans each year and cause the death of over 100,000 marine life? And what's more, most fabrics are made of synthetic materials that wash away into water bodies, constituting about 35% of this environmental harm.

As a woman, you can make a difference and play your part in saving the earth by choosing sustainable women's fashion. Beautiful garments that are made from recycled fabric or organic cotton, hemp, and linen are not only eco-friendly but are also sustainable, soft, and stand the test of time.

Since such fabrics are recycled, they are kept away from landfills, and the need to consume non-renewable resources to produce new clothing is reduced.

Some ways to adopt sustainable fashion

Buy second-hand clothes
This may come to you as a surprise, but using durable, second-hand clothes will serve as a way to reduce your carbon footprint. For starters, it means you are keeping these used clothes out of landfills. Manufacturers would also not need to manufacture more because of you.

Avoid cheap clothing
Cheap clothes wear out fast, prompting you to dispose of and buy a replacement. If you can afford it, expensive pieces of durable clothing will prevent you from having to buy more quickly.

Repurpose fabric
Repurposing fabric is another way to keep synthetic materials from landfills and limit the consumption of non-renewable resources during manufacturing.

Repurposed fabrics are usually made of fibers, such as recycled polyester, recycled cotton, and recycled nylon. You can also repurpose your old clothes by converting them into rags or bags.

Look beautiful, look elegant, look eco-friendly.
Our body is ours, and the earth is ours as well. It is our home. And caring for one's home is also caring for oneself.

Ways to Give Your Home the TLC it Deserves

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

A home is defined as a place where something normally or naturally lives or is located; however, if we look deeper, a home is a space where you can feel vulnerable and comfortable. So, we know how important a home is. So, how do we take care of these four walls? With a few home improvements, your home can have that proper TLC, but also it allows you to enjoy your home more. Although the term "home improvement" conjures up images of great, expensive projects that change the entire look of your property, it can also include fairly small tasks that add up to have a great impact on your house. These smaller renovations can freshen up a tired-looking home and make it more visually appealing!

Replacing the Windows
Replacing the windows really pays off because if you are experiencing cool and blustery weather in your living room, it's time to buy new window panes as soon as possible! As well as losing heat, your utility bill could be skyrocketing! So, replacing the windows is essential. Dallaswindowsdoors.com believes that a window pane should be durable enough to withstand even the most extreme temperatures and unpredictable climates and for years to come! But they should also be beautiful; narrower frames mean more glass and more view. You should also be able to rely on them. The windows you get should also not flake, rust, blister, peel, crack, pit or corrode and stand the test of time.

Painting
Paint provides dramatic results with little investment, and it doesn't just make your house look pretty! Giving your walls an update with some high-quality paint is an easy way to get your walls clean and ready for the next few years. With a new coat of paint, your walls will have a new layer of protection from moisture. Moisture can lead to mold, mildew growth, and even more extensive damage to your walls. In addition, a fresh coat of paint on your walls can help seal out moisture, reducing the added weight that can put stress on your home's structural integrity. Besides having newly protected surfaces, freshly painted walls or exteriors can increase curb appeal and the value of your house if you ever plan on selling your home.

Build a Deck
One of the most popular trends in home development today is outdoor living. Homeowners all over the country are expanding their living spaces to include the outdoors, building versatile living spaces that feature everything from places to read to entertaining areas. This is where adding a deck comes in. It offers a smooth transition from your indoor space to your outdoor. And it should be low daily maintenance, requiring less effort to keep nice. Also, imagine sitting on your decking on a cool summer morning, sipping tea or coffee, and just watching the world go by. Surely that is incentive enough!

Boiler Care
This tip is not as exciting or noticeable, but replacing your ancient and potentially unreliable is another worthwhile job! Older boiler models tend to be far less efficient with energy use and are far more prone to regular repairs. So investing in a new boiler can actually save you tons of money to spend on other home improvements. If you have had your boiler for more than 15 years, then after that, it's not going to be of much use to you, and you will want to think about investing in a replacement. Arranging annual service checks will also maintain the wellbeing of your boiler, which will consequently increase the likelihood of it having a long and healthy life – maybe even making it to the big 15. Also, a boiler's efficiency will usually decrease as it gets older, leading to more expensive energy bills, which we all want to avoid. And if your boiler is quite old, you may struggle to find the correct parts of your particular brand or model, and it's time to trade it in.

Decluttering
Decluttering your home is so important; it can cause increased productivity, creativity, and improved mental health! The way we treat our environment is informative of our physical and psychological health. A cluttered home is likely to induce a cluttered mind. Unsorted spaces can promote stress and feel overwhelming. The more unnecessary things you keep around, the more likely you will be continuously reminded of avoided tasks. Excessive materials can cause sensory overload and produce anxiety. Fortunately, concern surrounding the environment can be prevented. A more organized home encourages peace of mind. Tending to tasks right away curbs the stress that comes from piled-up chores and extensive to-do lists. If it also gives you potential financial perks, you can put items up for resale or even to consignment shops! Decluttering may seem like an overwhelming activity, but it can get done without a struggle with adequate preparation.

Fresh Lighting
Our first and perhaps only desire for lighting is that it improves our visibility in darkness, which is an important priority. However, as humans, our eyes adapt quickly, even if it is far from the ideal level of visibility. This is why we see a blaring light in a room that may have a harsh glare and think it is acceptable. This mindset should change!

More homes suffer more from a lack of proper lighting than over-illumination. Poor lighting — especially when accented by harsh, electronic screen lighting — can cause eyestrain and other visual issues, such as fatigue. But lighting should be used as a tool to create and define ambiance, and it can highlight your room's best features and add life and versatility to them.  So it's a good idea to redesign your home lighting.

The future of light bulbs is undoubtedly LEDs. Although expensive initially, they are cheap to run and should last years (even decades). Old halogen and tungsten filament bulbs are used to blow all the time, modern CFL and LED bulbs should last a very long time, and many are rated for 10,000 up to 50,000 hours. That means your bulb could still be running 20 years from now.

The coolest development in lighting is smart lights that you can control from an app on your smartphone or tablet or even respond to voice commands. From security lights to lamps that use timers to wake you up naturally, lights change color in time to your music.

Replace Insulation
Another home renovation idea that can save you money is to improve the insulation of your home. If you've noticed draughts creeping in during the winter, there are plenty of ways to prevent this without having to spend a fortune. Instead, you can probably reduce your energy bills by adding more insulation. Many older homes have less insulation than homes built today, but even adding insulation to a newer home can pay for itself within a few years.

Cavity walls can be insulated with polystyrene beads, spray foam, or fiberglass. These materials do not break down, and while a top-up is sometimes required far down the line, the insulation should last a lifetime. Only where the insulation has been incorrectly installed will there likely be a need to remove and replace it.

There you have it, a few little tips and tricks to enhance your home and to give it the proper TLC it deserves. Your home is there to look after you and your family, so it's worth every penny!

4 Ways to Keep Your Home Healthy and Safe

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

You may not be the type of person to think about your home's safety, but it is a very important thing to consider. Most people neglect their homes because they are busy focusing on work and family life. However, there are many easy ways for you to keep your home safe and healthy.

That said, here are four tips that can help you stay safe in your own home.

Improve The Indoor Air Quality
The first tip is to invest in an air purifier. This will help you get rid of harmful particles and toxins that can be found commonly in homes such as allergens, bacteria, viruses, mold or dust mites.

In addition to this investment, it would also be beneficial for you to have your windows open on a regular basis. If it is cold outside, you can invest in a humidifier to add moisture into the air inside of your home.

Next, you will want to make sure that your home has proper ventilation and good circulation so that this toxin free air from outdoors comes indoors easily. Keep things like doors and windows open, and make sure that you have a good ventilation system in your home.

Lastly, it would be wise to invest in an air purifier for the inside of your car. This will help keep any pollutants out of the vehicle which is often filled with people who can't escape them because they are trapped.

Keep Appliances In Good Working Conditions
The second tip is to keep your appliances in good working conditions. This includes things like vacuums, refrigerators and dishwashers because they can have a big impact on the air quality that you are living with at home. It Will also help if you fix plumbing issues on time. -When it comes to vacuum cleaners, make sure that you change them out every year or two. This will help you remove any allergens that are present.

In addition to this, it would be wise for you to make sure your dishwasher is on the sanitary cycle every time and not just the power wash one! If you use these two steps together there will be no risk of a foodborne illness or bacteria being transferred to your dishes.

Lastly, make sure that you keep up with the maintenance of your refrigerator so things like bacteria and mold don't grow in it. You should also clean out any old food from the freezer at least once a month to help prevent any rotting or spoiling foods.

Create A Comfortable Environment
The third tip is to create a comfortable environment in your home. This will help reduce any stress that you are currently feeling, and it can also make you feel like the place where you live is more of a refuge from all other responsibilities.

One way for this to be possible would be to purchase plants or flowers around your home. This will help you create a more welcoming environment that is pleasing to the eye.

Next, it would be good for you to invest in some nice scents or candles around your home as well. These can really make an area feel much better and they are usually very inexpensive items that make a big difference.

Lastly, it would be a good idea to invest in some nice furniture that you use for your living room. This will help make the area feel more comfortable and welcoming.

Prioritize your needs
The fourth tip is to prioritize your needs. This will help you stay healthy and safe inside of the home that you call yours!

You will want to make sure that you are taking care of yourself when it comes to getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly and avoiding any substances that can harm your health.

This will help you make sure that you are taking care of yourself and it will also give a boost to any other efforts which may be happening in the home as well! It is important for all members of the family to feel like they have their own needs met in order to remain healthy inside of their environment, and this is important for both adults and children.

These few tips can help you feel a little more healthy inside of your home, or at least make it easier to maintain the healthiness of your living space.

Parents: 6 Things Your Teenage Daughter Needs to Hear From You

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

When you’re the parent of a girl, you will see firsthand how she blossoms from a baby into a young adult. It’s both an exciting and scary time for your daughter, but she knows that she’ll get through the good times and bad because you are there for her.

Though, there are some things that your daughter needs to hear from you every so often - especially during her teenage years. As her parent, you should remind your daughter about the following statements, so she knows just how much you care:

1. I Love You
You obviously love your daughter more than life itself, but how often do you tell her that? The sad truth is some daughters reach adulthood, and when they start families of their own, they reflect on how little their mothers said to them that they loved them.

Don’t make your daughter doubt that you love her. There is nothing wrong with telling her that you love her, especially on a daily basis, because it’s true. When coupled with loving actions, those three words will go a long way to affirming the bond you have with her.

2. I'm Proud of You
The next statement you should tell your daughter regularly is that you’re very proud of her. You don’t need to wait for her to pass an exam or do something specific to warrant such a statement; you should just tell her.

Children often crave the approval of their parents, even if it’s by doing something that you might find insignificant to your life. It’s important to tell your daughter that you’re proud of her and also proud of how she offers her personal best at anything she sets her mind to doing.

3. I'm Here for You
Growing up in an adult-dominated world can be pretty confusing, frustrating, scary, and even anxiety-inducing for teenagers at the best of times. Teens have to cope with changing hormones, peer pressure and learn about stuff like relationships.

Sometimes, your teenage daughter might feel lonely in the big wide world, even though she lives at home with you and is part of a family unit. That’s why it’s crucial to remind her that you’re there for her.

Being there for your daughter can be as simple as hugging her if she’s feeling blue or helping her look for prom dresses if she’s going to graduate from high school soon. Your daughter needs to know and feel that she can depend on you to back her up.

4. Tell Me What's on Your Mind
You will undoubtedly have the best idea of noticing when your daughter seems preoccupied and may appear to struggle with internal conflict or thoughts. Sometimes, there are thoughts or worries that your daughter might feel like she can’t share with someone other than you.

Be there for your daughter and ask her to tell you what’s on her mind. Be the support that she needs, and guide her to making the right choices and decisions. Even when she reaches full adulthood, she’ll still turn to you for moral support.

5. I’m Sorry
Children often see their parents as the font of all knowledge. While it’s true that parents have gone through many experiences in their lives, no one is perfect. Sometimes, parents get things wrong just like teenagers.

It’s for that reason you need to recognize when you’ve said or done something wrong and apologize for your actions (or lack of them). Show your daughter that you didn’t mean to hurt her feelings or cause any sorrow and pain.

Sorry is a simple word in the English language; yet, it’s a word that some people find hard to use.

6. Would You Like Some Help
As mentioned earlier, teenagers typically want to gain their parents’ approval on many things, and to achieve that goal, they will try to figure out certain things for themselves. The trouble is, some parents aren’t quick to offer any help if they see their daughters struggling.

Even if you can’t help with certain situations, you can assist by finding other people that can help. Your daughter shouldn’t feel like she’s alone, especially concerning matters relating to school or friendships.

Sometimes, you can help by simply offering a friendly ear to listen to her concerns (see point four).

Final Thoughts
As a parent, you might sometimes feel like your daughter is driving you crazy. But, you should always remember that she’s still finding her way in the world, even though she might be doing well academically and have lots of friends, for example.

Telling her a few simple phrases or asking questions shows (and reminds) your daughter how much you care for and love her.

Top Tips to Enhance Your Living Sanctuary

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

A living sanctuary is a place that offers protection and safety. It is, therefore, safe to say that your house is a living sanctuary. A home not only provides safety and security, but it is also a place where you can relax, hide from the world, and many other things.

Since a home is a significant life investment, you must ensure you are on top of maintaining it the right way. Regardless of whether you wish to sell the house in the future or live in it for the rest of your life, you must ensure you look after it to maintain it in top-notch condition.

All too often, most people think that adding value to a house involves undertaking costly remodeling projects. But this isn’t always the case. You can add more value to your home without spending a single dime.

Here are the top tips to use for the best results.

Deal with All Damages
You cannot add value to your home if you do not deal with all sorts of damages. Unfortunately, most homeowners tend to ignore house damages by assuming they exist or hiding them using items such as wall paintings.

While this might be a temporary solution, unknowingly, it can lead to further damage, and you might incur hefty repair costs. Therefore, you should deal with any issues as soon as you can. For example, if you have leaking faucets, roof dips, or holes in the wall, get that checked immediately.

If you deal with damages from calamities such as floods or fire, you should call in a suitable repairer. While at it, you may want to consider top insurance adjusters to accelerate your insurance claims for the damages.

Make Your Home More Attractive
Another inexpensive way to add value to your living sanctuary is making it more beautiful. It can be as simple as planting flowers on the front porch, mowing your lawn, adding interior décor, repainting, and so many other ways.

Beautifying your home can also fetch a higher selling price. Besides, who doesn’t love living in a beautiful environment! Therefore, ensure you make your home more attractive from all angles; the living area, bedrooms, bathrooms, patios, dining room, hallways, and more. And, you do not necessarily have to buy decorating items as there are things you can easily DIY.

Upgrade to a Smart Home
To add more value to your home, perhaps, the best way is to add technology and buying highly advanced appliances. Though this might be costly, with the proper financial planning, it is easy to achieve. Besides, the value you will get is unquestionable.

To upgrade to a smart home, you can add technologies such as smart thermostats, cameras, lighting systems, fire detectors, and more. State-of-the-art appliances can also increase your home’s value. Such include advanced faucets, Furbo dog cameras, pancake bots, and other electronic gadgets.

You probably noticed that the above strategies to add value to your home include spending cash. Fortunately, they will not dig deep into your pockets. All you have to do is budget for them, and you will add more value to your home effortlessly.

Why You’re Still Single (When You Don’t Want to Be)

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Are you trying to find someone to spend your life with? Want to create a meaningful relationship that can stand the test of time? Have all the intention there but finding it hard to actually get yourself off of the market and into the taken club?

If you are wondering why you are still single, even though you don’t want to be, here are some things you could be doing wrong, a guide if you like. Designed to help you to understand why you are single and give you some advice on what you can do to change things for yourself in the future.

You are not using all your resources

One reason you might not find love is that you are not using all the resources that are open to you. There are various ways that you can meet people and date them these days, so make sure that you are using them to your advantage. Apps, websites, social media, and even chat lines including gay chat, divorcee chat, and black chat line dating are all available to you and all could lead you to find the person that you are looking for.

You think that you don’t deserve love

You might not realize it, but how you feel about yourself can often impact your dating history and whether or not you find the right person. You need to try and boost your self-esteem and find ways to ensure that you feel that you deserve love and that the love you receive should be the best quality possible.

You are not coming across well

You might be desperate to make a love connection, but this doesn’t mean you should come across as desperate when you date people. When you give off desperate vibes, then the other person is likely to be put off wanting to know more about you and what you have to offer them.

You are not open

Everyone has certain types of people they are more attracted to, as this is how attraction works most. However, just because someone might not be the type of person that you would usually go for, that doesn’t mean that you should automatically discount them. When it comes to long-term love, sometimes you need to match someone’s personality more than their looks, as looks fade.

You find it hard to trust
We have all had bad things happen in the past, which has meant that we trust a little less than we might have done before. This is okay and a normal part of dating and learning about love. But, one of the worst things that you can do is trust so little that you end up not meeting the right person.

You may have been burnt in the past, but this doesn’t mean that everyone is the same and that you have to give up on the idea of dating altogether. It just means that you need to take it carefully and take the time to meet someone who shows you that you can trust.

Are you not liking the single life? Want to try and give yourself the best chance of meeting someone to spend your life with? If this is true for you, then make sure that you take the time to work out what might be going wrong and how you can fix it for the future.

Unraveling The Art of Gifting to Maintain a Healthy Relationship

Hi lovelies,

It's so strange that we instinctively associate love with getting gifts. Whether it's birthdays, holidays, or any other special occasion, many of us can't wait to open the presents from the family members. After all, it feels nice getting something thoughtful from someone who loves you and cherishes you.

Surprisingly, receiving gifts is one of the ways people perceive love. In fact, for some, it's the most impactful love expression that they experience in their lives. This is why decoding this love language becomes very crucial if you wish to maintain a healthy relationship.

Love Language: What Should You Focus on?
Many people presume that people who love receiving gifts are more likely to be materialistic. But it's quite the opposite. Such people don't think about the monetary cost of the present. Instead, their primary focus is on the value or the thought behind that gift.

In other words, it's the process or the journey that they value more. The presents are the physical symbol of love that shows them their partner's feelings for them. This is why regularly surprising them with gifts is indeed the best way to keep the spark alive in a relationship. For instance, if you opt for custom wall art or photo mug from Fami Prints, you can show what they mean to you. This is, in fact, a great idea if your relationship is heading towards marriage.

To help you more, the following tips will enable you to increase the fluency of your love language. And that too without breaking your bank. Relief, isn't it?

  • Always choose items that have some sentimental value. In other words, you need to master the skill of gift-giving.

  • Never miss a chance to gift your partner. Make sure to keep reminders for important dates or occasions, especially if you tend to forget dates.

  • Share a small token of love, like a pillow or custom phone case, as an extended version of your affection.

  • If you are into a profession that requires traveling, make sure to let them know that you thought about them while you were away.

  • Don't just buy whatever you see. Put thought into your gifting ritual. Make sure it symbolizes something special.

  • Remember to stick to this routine. If your partner loves receiving gifts, consistency will help you communicate your thoughts clearly.

  • Always remember their reactions. You can even record their responses to know what they like the most. And if you feel confused, never shy away from asking advice from your near and dear ones.

Final Takeaways
If you notice all the small things of your partner, learning the art of gifting is not at all tedious or daunting. Just make sure to make a big deal on special occasions and keep surprising them even when there is nothing big coming up.

It goes without saying that every relationship is unique. But denying the impact of gifts for creating a stronger bond won't do any good. So, don't forget that giving gifts helps you to make your relationship stronger and last forever.
