Kandee Johnson is one of the fiercest beauty influencers out there, so it was no surprise that the launch of her make-up collaboration with achi Beauty was one of the not-to-be missed events of the season. 

We partied at the Doheny Room in West Hollywood, got pampered with gel manicures and massages, munched on scrumptious sushi, and sipped on yummy signature cocktails.

Interview with the CEO of achi Beauty, Valerie Anderson

What made you think of this line? 
I own a nail salon in Manhattan Beach and there was not enough high end brands, that I felt were as good as the main brands so I wanted to come out with something that combined every quality that I loved about other brands so this is how achi was born, when we went to Japan found a chemist that could make everything that I want.

What inspired you?
All the women that are my clients, that I see every day because everybody loves to get their nails done and I wanted something healthy for them and also made them feel good when they get it done that’s why I made it strawberry scented nail polish.

How do you value the power of the beauty industry?
I value it very much, I feel really is now the pioneers of the beauty industry their options are very important to every brand. 

What method of outreach will capture your brand the best Instagram, Facebook, twitter?Social media, Instagram right now it is very strong in putting your brand out there.

What is your favorite thing about achi? What can we see from the brand? 
I love everything about it, the colors especially the rose gold, the nude colors, if you see the packing its all beige, pink and rose gold and very feminine. We just came out with the rose gold tweezers and having a presence of a luxury feel to the beauty and nail industry. 

How is this perfumed? 
We use a natural strawberry scented oil.

How did you come up with strawberry?
We tested out different scents, and I felt that I wanted for my first launch I wanted something that reminded me of my childhood and scratch and sniff stickers.

achi is a premium beauty luxury line created by Valerie Anderson, who is a seasoned expert in the nail industry. Anderson currently owns several businesses in the Manhattan Beach, California area. Orthopedic Institute for Children x Peter Facinelli

Taking the time to be a part of meaningful organization is super important to me. The Orthopedic Institute for Children (OIC) mission to prevent and treat illnesses and injuries in children is a cause that's worth supporting and really resonates with me. 

On Monday, I was honored to attend their benefit pre- dinner took place at newly launched restaurant, Les Coulisses, located in Los Angeles CA.

What made the night even more magical than learning about the OIC, was that we were able to dine with and special guest Peter Facinelli, who served as the evening host. Thie night's festivities was a pre -dinner in support of  the upcoming OIC “Swing for Kids Golf Classic” hosted by Craig T. Nelson, taking place Thursday, November 6th, 2017.

"Swing for Kids Golf Tournament is an annual fundraising event known for its unique on-course features, including tequila tastings, hand-rolled cigar bars, international cuisine pop-up tastings, and many other surprises. The tournament will kick off on Monday, November 6th at Palos Verdes Golf Club, Palos Verdes, CA. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Orthopedic Institute for Children (OIC). All proceeds will be used towards the building of a new Physical Therapy Center that will help kids heal faster,  better, and give parents the tools to aid in their child’s rehabilitation. New York: The Bench stars Robert Galinsky and marks the New York directorial debut of Jay O. Sanders, it will begin its limited run at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) on October 15 and will initially run Sunday evening at 7pm through December 17, 2017, and will celebrate its press opening on Sunday, October 29. This production is being presented by Golden Globe Nominated Chris Noth, Drama Desk, Obie, Olivier Award winner Barry Shabaka Henley and Cherry Lane Theatre. The Bench is produced by Tony Award winning producer Terry Schnuck. Based on true stories, The Bench, set in urban decay and rubble, explores the emotional heartbreak of five homeless characters and the catastrophic hysteria surrounding AIDs in the 1980’s.

The sparse set is accented with hand-drawn imagery, from Daphne Arthur’s graphic novel adaptation of the play, and audio design is by world re-known composer and multi-instrumentalist Deep Singh. It’s a unique and fresh solo theatre piece wherein one actor plays five characters, written in dialogue form, not traditional ‘monologue black out, monologue black out’ traditional solo theater form.

The Bench has been called “effortless—really quite extraordinary.” Backstage Magazine; “The Bench features ensemble work, being done by one human being, with sustainable characters that have incredible nuances. BackStage Magazine has called ROBERT GALINSKY’s acting “extraordinary & effortless” while High Times Magazine says Galinsky is “manic, deadpan & takes aim with psychotic precision.” His favorite roles include: Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and Solyony in The Three Sisters in New Haven Connecticut's "Free Shakespeare on The Green".

Galinsky is a contributing editor to The Fresh Toast, is Head Speaker Coach for TEDxTeen, TEDxFultonStreet, and teaches writing and performance at Rikers Island Jail, through the non-profit Literacy for Incarcerated Teens and GalinskyCoaching.com. His work as an artist activist has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, and on “The VIEW,” NPR, “ABC Nightline News” and many media outlets. JAY O. SANDERS (Director) most recently appeared at the Public Theater in a trilogy of new plays written and directed by Richard Nelson called The Gabriels; Election Year in the Life of One Family, with a company including his wife, Maryann Plunkett. The productions then toured the world, were filmed by WNET, and livestreamed on BroadwayHD.

Before that, they also appeared together in Nelson’s four-play series The Apple Family which was filmed and shown as well on WNET before touring Europe. A passionate Shakespearian, Sanders has also been seen in King Lear, Titus Andronicus, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Midsummer Night’s Dream, among others, as well as portraying George W. Bush in David Hare’s Stuff Happens at the Public and Alfred Doolittle in Pygmalion at The Roundabout on Broadway. In 2015, his own play, Unexplored Interior, had its world premiere as the inaugural production of Washington D.C.’s Mosaic Theater.

His long list of film credits includes JFK, The Day After Tomorrow, Glory, Tumbleweeds, Half Nelson, Edge of Darkness, and Revolutionary Road. Recent television includes “Sneaky Pete,” “True Detective,” “Blindspot,” “The Good Wife,” “American Odyssey,” and “Person of Interest”. Last night I had the pleasure of celebrating the launch of the Jacki bag, the newest collaboration between famed handbag designer Lulu Johansen Eschelman and E! News/Daily Pop icon and The Catt Walk CEO, Catt Sadler

The soirée was held at LaPiazza Ristorante at the Grove and we enjoyed yummy bites and bubbly during the unveiling of the limited edition handbag line. Beyond how beautiful and functional the Jacki bag is, the message and purpose behind the collection is even more inspiring.

Half of all of the proceeds from the LMxCatt collaboration with go to the Women Like Us Foundation. During the celebration we watched an inspiring documentary on Catt, her mother's, and Lulu's experience at the Olmailaika Home in Kenya and I was touched by the women's journey, strength, .

Additionally, girls from the home contributed beautiful and authentic Kenyan beading to each handbag.

Just because summer is winding down, that doesn't mean that we still shouldn't be working on our summer bodies. I love feeling happy, healthy, and strong all year round, which is why I'm committed to eating consciously, consistently exercising and moving my body, and making sure that I go in for my Exilis Ulta 360 treatments at the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center.

Olivia is a beautiful and talented actress, model, television presenter, cellist, and Miss USA, and her fashion collection did not disappoint. Ever since being introduced to her collection, I've been wearing the pieces from photoshoots, to dates, to red carpets.
