That's why I turn to my 100% cotton jean jacket as my statement piece to complete any outfit to stay cool, chic, and stylish this summer. My 100% cotton jean jacket goes with every outfit in my closet and adds a bit of a fashionable twist to the look. I can pair my jean jacket with all of my favorite summer styles from my cotton spring dresses, floral print rompers, crochet shorts with vintage tees, jean shorts with tank tops, and skinny jeans. Even when I'm dressed up for the evening, I can throw on my jean jacket for a hipster look to make the look my own.
Reason #2: Cotton keeps me both stylish and comfortable
As my signature fabric, cotton doesn't just keep me looking fashionable and stylish, it also keeps me cool. It's usually blended into the pieces that I purchase and in the looks that are already hanging in my closet. The fabric is super breathable and light weight, which makes it perfect for hot summer days in the sun. But it also doubles as the perfect layer during the cool L.A. nights. It's the perfect signature piece for layering for both style and comfort.
Reason #3: Cotton is super easy to care for while always being on-trend
Since I'm always on-the-go, I need my signature piece, my jean jacket, and fabric, cotton, to be easy to take care without any hassles. The majority of cotton and cotton-blended pieces don't require dry cleaning and I just wash my pieces at home. My pieces look great for longer as well since cotton durable, doesn't keep odors, super breathable, and is a natural fiber.
Fashion tip: When your'e on the hunt for cotton pieces, don't be afraid to opt for cotton-rich fabrics, since cotton blends are just as fabulous and comfortable as 100% cotton pieces. Shop for pieces that are 60% cotton or higher for all apparel and 90% or higher for denim, and don’t forget to double-check your labels for cotton.

Just because it's finally summer time that doesn't mean that it's all work and no play. But luckily for me, as a fashion and lifestyle blogger and social media influencer, I usually get to play at work. However, that means creating outfits that reflect both my personal style and professional demeanor. So when I was invited to attend The Connector L.A.'s Summer Soirée for Influencers at The Penthouse on Sunset Blvd., I turned to Banana Republic for the ultimate summer style outfit the would be both fashion-forward yet timeless and chic.
The event was hosted by Diana Madison, Elaine Daneshrad of Fashionlane, and Caroline Baudino, nd during the soirée we enjoyed a light and lovely sustainable lunch by Kore Kitchen while previewing the works and designs of Isabella Huffington, Making Art and Breaking Hearts, Tara Hirshberg, Retrospecs, Art Department, J/Hadley, George Esquivel, Paolita Beach, and Karma el Khalil.
Since I was among such a fashionable and influential group, I needed to make sure that I was Insta-ready at all times, thus I choose a head-to-toe outfit all styled in Banana Republic pieces that were perfectly on-trend for summer style with a touch of professional polish.
Heavy Metals:
Since metallics is such a huge trend this summer and will be sure to continue into the fall. I choose a pair of strappy silver metallic high-heeled sandals for my look. The Bev Cutout Heel gave me just enough lift to elongate my legs but was comfortable enough to be on my feet all day going from event to event and meeting to meeting.
Make a Statement:
I always love a good statement piece. Whether it's a pop of color with a bold clutch or a sequined jacket over a little black dress, the statement piece is by far my most favorite piece to shop for and wear. I'm officially obsessed with feathered and jeweled statement necklace that I can mix-and-match with dressier outfits or play it cool and casual with jeans and a vintage tee. Even though Los Angeles is the land of endless sun, sand, heat waves, and being beach-body ready 365 days of the year, the true summer season is quickly coming to an end. But worry not my summer lovers, I have 3 fun and easy ways to end summer in style and usher in the fall with effortless ease.
My go-to for a quick feel good is retail therapy of course. So while I'm soaking up the sun on the beach or sipping Mai Tai's by the pool, I want to look stylish and chic while doing it. That's why I love wearing the Australia Top paired with the Miami Bottom, both in Bronzer by Courtney Allegra Swim.
So end your summer in style with a new bathing suit and regardless of your body type, be fierce and fearless and opt for the bikini and love your body with confidence.
Fashion tip: Accessorize your look your look by adding a long necklace, a flash body tattoo, or an arm-cuff.
Already used up all of your vacation days? No worries. Take a staycation at home. Sneak out of the office early and hit up a cool tourist attraction in your city that you've never been to. If you're looking to splurge a bit and really get the most out of your staycation, rent a hotel room in your city and take full advantage of the pool, bar, and spa services.
If you want a more low-key staycation, run a bubble bath, pop some champagne, and light some candles. Then after you're done, go out side and lay on a blanket and star gaze while listening to your favorite music.
This is probably the toughest of all three but would actually be the most fulfilling. Go offline for an entire weekend, which means no social media (I think I would die without Instagram), cell phones, iPads, Wi-Fi, TV, radio, etc.
Find the beauty in connecting in-real-life with people and having in-person conversations. And perhaps, gasp!, you could even read a book or catch up on your magazines. If I can muster up the strength to go completely dark for a weekend, I would definitely write in my journal. What would you do during your offline time?

Step 1 - Exfoliate Your Skin
