The event was held in the pop-up, adjacent to iconic destination for sneakerheads and celebrities, Sportie LA, located at 7763 Melrose Ave and the adjoining parking lot, infamous for its influencer appeal due to its iconic murals.

The event, titled “#Mephistowalks” was designed to poke fun at the age-old presumption that Angelinos don’t walk. It brought together a slew of Influencers and industry VIP’s who were treated to a special gifting suite experience, which included an interactive room whereby a unique greenscreen treadmill feature had guests producing their own mini ‘walking films’ in their new Mephisto Originals shoes for social media.

Guests were treated to a live performance by singer-songwriter, Andrew Cole (Colorblind), accompanied by Black Eyed Peas’ guitarist, producer, George Pajon, and concert violinist, KOI whilst Muralist, Gustavo Zermeno created live a Mephisto Originals branded wall piece for the brand.”

Notable guests included: Christopher Reid (Kid from Hip-Hop duo, Kid N Play), George Pajon, Michael Evans Behling, Lyriq Bent, Rhuigi, Eric Ramirez, Jasmine White, Brandon Gray and Hugh Augustine. Specialty cocktails were provided by partners, ROK Drinks.

I always love layering, even in the summer. My go-to summer style uniform is black tights, denim cut-offs, a black tank top, black studded heels, and a printed kimono.

The 3 Things I Did As A Panelist At BlushCon with Tobi

This past weekend I had the pleasure of being a panelist during BlushCon, an LA based celebration of all things youth and beauty featuring the best cosmetics brands from the United States, Asia, and beyond. Beauty lovers were able to listen to panel discussions and meet their favorite beauty influencers and brands.

My panel took place on January 13th, and the topic was, “How to Build Your Audience and Monetize It.” While prepareing for the big day, I knew that there were three that I needed to do in order to make my session a success. Please check them out below and let me know what you think!

#1: Prepare. Prepare. Prepare.

The first thing I did was go over the panel questions that I was sent prior to our session. I wrote out my answers on paper and then practiced saying them aloud. This way, once I was on the panel with the crowd and all of the lights, I would still feel confident and prepared because I would already know the talking points and message that I wanted to get across. There’s no substitute for preparation to build confidence while public speaking.

#2: Comfort. Comfort. Comfort.

Sitting on stage in front of a large crowd with cameras and lights can be a bit intimidating, so feeling confident in my own skin is super important when it comes to public speaking. That’s why I wanted to make sure that my outfit made a style statement while still being comfortable.

I opted to wear a vintage sequined jacket because I love, love sequins and paired it with a Up To No Good Distressed Tee by Tobi in white. Of course, I wore my signature Kate Spade black tights and brought along my Sandy Lisa Amalfi Shoulder Bag in beige to carry all of my stuff.

#3 Connect. Connect. Connect.

I made sure to not only connect with the audience and the people in the crowd, but I also made sure to connect with the other panelists. We laughed and shared stories prior to our session so we were able to work as a team while on-stage.

We also started following each other on Instagram and tagged each other when we posted about the event to make sure that we were supporting each other. It’s important to see your peers as collaborators and not as competition.

Battle of the Sexes x L.A. Premiere

Hi lovelies,

Last night I got to attend the star-studded L.A. premiere of Battle of the Sexes. Emma Stone looked flawless in platinum blonde hair and a sparkling silver outfit, while Steve Carrell looked distinguished in his dark suit.

Emma's performance as tennis legend, equal rights pioneer, and LGBQT advocate, Billie Jean King, was uncanny and you forget that you're watching Emma and you really feel as though you're watching Billie Jean in the 1970's.

Beyond the way she speaks and looks, Emma nails Billie Jean's signature walk and it was impressive how precise her tennis move were to mimic the legend's expertise.

Steve's portrayal of Bobby Riggs showed the troubled gambler's life in a compassionate way. Revealing that he was more of a lost soul looking for meaning than a rambling bigot. Elizabeth Shue also gave a riveting performance as his patient yet fed-up wife.

Sarah Silverman gave a compelling performance and she made us laugh throughout the entire film with her endearing portrayal of Gladys Heldman.

But what really stole the show was the powerful speech that the real Billie Jean King gave prior to the movie. She told us about her journey and how she paved the way for women's professional tennis to exist today.
