3 Reasons to Visit BOA Steakhouse

THE AMBIANCE

THE FOOD
The menu is endless from premium steak, oysters, crab legs, ribs, and perfect sides from mashed potatoes, asparagus, veggies, scallops, and more. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Plus, the surf and turf options are to die for and I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu, especially the desserts.

THE DRINKS
My favorite was the BOA Infusion Signature Cocktail that literally tastes like a delicious watermelon jolly rancher in a glass. My other go-to cocktail was the Clean Cocktail, which is a smoother version of a mojito with mint and cucumber. My bestie loved the Old Fashioned and also got the dirty martini, extra dry with blue cheese olives - and of course, I tasted on his cocktails too. I’m looking forward to trying the Blackberry Smash the next time I swing by.

Best Cities for a Job after College

LifestyleCandy Washington1 Comment

Hi lovelies,

Good news for 2018-2019 college graduates. According to a survey of employers by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, almost 17 percent rated the job market for 2019 as excellent. Another 45 percent identified it as very good. With their college degree hot in hand, recent graduates may take aim on making it big in the big city.

Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio

What might surprise people is that huge cities on the East and West Coasts are not necessarily the best land of opportunity for newly minted graduates. In fact, several cities that made the top ten of a recent SmartAsset list are right squarely in the heart of the Midwest, with Columbus, Ohio at the top of the heap and Cincinnati right behind.

It is worth noting that Cincinnati—number two on SmartAsset’s list—made the number ten spot with ZipRecruiter. Part of that is due to the presence of several powerhouse employers like Kroger, General Electric, and Procter and Gamble.

Factors that grads need to take into account include the unemployment rate for college graduates, median rent or home price, and the percentage of adults in that 20-29 age range. Those Midwest cities in SmartAsset’s top ten all had rent factors ranging from $550 to just under $850.

Omaha, Nebraska

Another index that uses ZipRecruiter’s “Opportunity Score” – the number of jobs versus job seekers—also puts a spotlight on the Midwest, although on this list Omaha, Nebraska gets top billing. What both indexes do agree on is the affordability of life in America’s heartland combined with opportunities for recent college grads to snag well-paying jobs. In addition to opportunities and affordability, this particular study took into account a city's "walkability."  When this is factored in, smaller cities that might offer excellent opportunities for recent grads may not fare as well because of being more spread out with less population density.

Scottsdale, Arizona

The most exhaustive ranking for job opportunities comes courtesy of WalletHub, which ranked more than 180 cities across the United States using a myriad of factors split into two principal categories: Job Market and Socio-Economics. Topping WalletHub's rankings are Scottsdale, Arizona. Just to give you an idea of how measuring the “best” cities can vary, Omaha ranked 50th in this index with Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio at 69th and 73rd, respectively.

How do they determine these cities?

The WalletHub rankings measured favorite American cities along with the two most densely populated cities in each state. Their methodology skews heavily toward the job market, looking at such factors as an opportunity, employment growth, starting salaries, unemployment, and access to benefits. Socio-economic factors taken into account include dating and family friendliness, transit, safety, commuting time, and affordability.

Conclusion

The bottom line for any college graduate in the market for a job is to remember that bigger isn’t always better. Larger cities often have a higher rent factor that can have a tremendous impact on quality of life. So in addition to low unemployment and excellent opportunities for higher-paying jobs, graduates need to take into account those socio-economic factors. Work satisfaction is not enough to make up for a lifestyle that doesn’t suit you.

Why Every Lifestyle Influencer Loves the New Lincoln Aviator

Hi lovelies,

Since we’re on the cusp of a new year, I wanted to find ways to revamp and revitalize various aspects of my life. First up, was redesigning my apartment. I was inspired by my visits to fashion showrooms and relaxing spas, and I wanted to recreate those experiences at-home. I converted my closet into wardrobe racks, displayed my jewelry on a glass tables, added scented candles, twinkling lights, and I updated my home decor by adding vases, dried flowers, crystals, and more. It was comforting to incorporate these key touchpoints into my home which transformed it into my own personal sanctuary.

This is why the intentionality behind the design and engineering of the all new 2020 Lincoln Aviator really resonated with me. They were extremely thoughtful about creating a curated experience for their clients that incorporated meaningful interactions throughout the customer’s journey with the sleek new vehicle, based on non-conventional expectations.

Like me, they took inspiration from the spa and other luxury experiences by switching out the mechanical car sounds with chimes specifically created for the Aviator. It’s such a subtle yet powerful switch.

Another aspect of the all new 2020 Lincoln Aviator that spoke to me was the connectivity between your phone and your fob key. You can open the Lincoln Aviator directly from your phone, track the location of your fob key, and there’s security measures in place such as a pin code to use in case your phone dies and the ability to deactivate the function if your phone is lost or stolen. (this part in red doesn’t feel very authentic, whereas the explanation of the feature feels much more natural.)

The inside of the car actually felt like my sanctuary. It has the latest in music and sound technology through Revel speakers, access to an array of artists on Tidal, Waze accessibility, wireless charging, heated seats with massage capabilities, and so much more.

But what impressed me most was how intuitive the Aviator is. It has a park assist option, where the car will park itself and all you have to do to is hold down the button while parking. The car also has front and back cameras that scan your outside environment and then adapt accordingly depending your surroundings, from avoiding potholes to adjusting how fast or slow you’re driving based on the speed limit signs.

The all new 2020 Lincoln Aviator didn’t disappoint, as it maintained the heritage of the iconic Lincoln brand while adding new, revitalized, and meaningful experiences for today’s driver. It’s definitely a new car for the new year, and I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to be there for the reveal of this spectacular reveal!

Girls Weekend Getaway in Las Vegas: What to Do

LifestyleCandy Washington5 Comments

*GUEST POST*

Chances are, you’ve seen those movies all about girlfriends getting up to no good at glamorous Las Vegas clubs.

And you naturally want in on the fun. Who wouldn’t?

As long as you organise what to do way in advance, you can cater your Las Vegas experience to both your budget and your interests.

You can grab all-inclusive getaway weekend packages while they’re on sale, for instance. Or sleep at hotels that have all you could need included: spas, casino, restaurants, nightclubs, and more.

And if you want some women-only nighttime action?

Let me tell you, Las Vegas may seem like a boy’s club, but there’s some great nightclubs out there for us too.

Let’s take a look at some of the best things you can do in Vegas with your girlfriends!

Where to Stay: Best Las Vegas Hotels

girl-friends-vegas.jpg

There is so much in Vegas when it comes to hotels. You might want to choose one according to the features and facilities they offer.

Some of the best and most reasonably priced hotels include the Flamingo Hotel, the Venetian and the Palazzo.

But what about the more upscale places?

For some of the best nightclubs like Omnia and food options like the Libertine Social, we recommend:

1.    Caesar’s Palace

2.    Mandalay Bay

There’s a lot to do at these hotels. You might not even want or need to visit the rest of Vegas itself if you stay here!

Things to Do: Best Shows and Casinos in Las Vegas

mandalay.jpg

There are just so many things to do in Las Vegas besides gambling. You can fill your days with some serious fun.

If you’re a first-timer, then grab a pen and get ready to make a bucket list.

Daytime Activities: Shows and Attractions

Vegas-helicopter-tour.jpg

They may say Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, but you’d better get a few hours of shut-eye if you really want to take advantage of your time there.

One of the best possible attractions you could squeeze into your afternoon would be the Vegas helicopter tour. You can choose to fly over the strip, or the Grand Canyon.

It might be one of the pricier attractions, but trust us, it’s worth it!

Another thing to look into would be the plethora of shows that are happening all over the city. You’ll find big names like the Cirque du Soleil, or discover lesser-known shows.

And if you’re ready to start partying early?

There are plenty of day parties happening at beach clubs like the Encore or Daylight. Knock yourself out.

Casinos & Nighttime Attractions for Adults

wynnlasvegas.png

All of the Vegas hotel casinos are known to be pretty amazing. But which ones have the very best reputation?

Here are the ones we’d recommend:

·         Wynn Casino

·         Palazzo Resort

·         Belaggio Casino

These casinos are known for their 100% fair, unrigged machines, their cozy atmosphere, and their friendly employees.

If you’re looking for a raunchier evening and you’d rather see some better-looking men than the other tourists, then the male strip clubs in Vegas are worth every penny.

Definitely go check out the Omnia Nightclub, the infamous Palomino club, or perhaps one of the best-touted new teams – Australia’s Thunder from Down Under.

And if you’re into women – FreeZone is the place for you, as the number one Vegas lesbian bar.
