Natural Methods For Cleaning Carpets Without Harsh Chemicals

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Carpets are one of the biggest sources of air quality problems in the home. Over time, dust and dirt get trapped in the fibers and released when you walk around your home, which is why it’s so important to keep your carpets clean.

But you have to be careful about the products that you use because a lot of cleaning products are filled with harsh chemicals. That’s why everybody should switch to natural cleaning products instead, but a lot of people are concerned that they won’t be as effective. But there is no need to worry because there are plenty of natural remedies that will clean your carpet just as well. These are the best natural ways to keep your carpet free from dirt and dust.

Vacuum Regularly
Before you start looking at different cleaning remedies it’s worth remembering that the easiest way to keep your carpet clean is to vacuum regularly. The dirt can’t build up in the first place if you vacuum every couple of days, so stay on top of it. If you can’t be bothered to do that, why not get a robot vacuum so you don’t have to? It will automatically vacuum the house and switch itself off when it’s done and you can even get ones that will mop the hardwood floors too. You will save so much time and the air quality in your home will be far better because the dust is never allowed to settle in the carpet.

Steam Cleaning
Even if you vacuum regularly, your carpet will still get dirty and it needs to be properly cleaned from time to time. The best way to give it a good clean and remove all of the bacteria without using harsh chemicals is to use steam. Steam kills off bacteria, removes odors and gets rid of any stains on the carpet and you only need to use water. Steam cleaners are not that expensive and they can be used for chemical-free cleaning in so many areas of the home.

Homemade Cleaning Products
If you want a healthier, chemical-free home, making the switch to natural cleaning products is so important. There are some brilliant products that you can buy, which have been made with natural ingredients, but you can also make your own.

Baking soda is a very common ingredient in homemade cleaning products because it’s cheap and incredibly effective. If you sprinkle some baking soda and essential oils over the carpet, it will draw out any bad odors and stains from the carpet. After letting it sit for a while, spray it with a mixture of water and vinegar. It will fizz for a while, then you can clean it off with warm water and let the carpet dry. This method is just as effective as most of the chemical-filled carpet cleaners you can buy, and it’s much better for your health.

You don’t have to fill your home with harsh chemicals if you want to keep your carpets clean, just use these natural methods instead.
