A part of my self-care routine is redefining the what it means to be safer-at-home and I refuse to call it a lock-down, but rather, I choose to embrace it as a reboot. It’s time to reboot my routines, how I take care of myself, how I run my business, and how I take care of my relationships with friends and family.
Another way that I’ve maintained a sense of joy and consistency during this reboot is by implementing a daily skincare routine that gives me the time and space to slow down, focus on myself, and reconnect with my body.

The quality of a smile isn’t all about the smile itself. It will look better and feel far more natural if you engage with the people that you are smiling at. Maintain eye contact as you speak to people and even make eye contact as you pass people in the street or when you sit down next to them on the bus.
Soften Your Lips

Proper hydration will help to keep your lips soft, but sometimes, in the winter especially, they might need a little extra help. Why Every Beauty Girl Trusts Her Skin to the VI Peel with Dr. Christine and Oxygenetix

Since we’re all on our self-care and skincare journeys, I wanted to share my VI Peel experience with Dr. Christine Ibrahim with you all. My main skincare issue has always been hyper-pigmentation, which the is the darkening of skin at trauma points or where the skin has been broken which can be anything from pimples, cuts, acne, and sun exposure, so I’m super excited to see my results and to see if my hyper-pigmentation fades. The VI Peel, which is a chemical peel created by VI Aesthetics, is also great for anti-aging along with achieving an even skin tone.
When I walked into Dr. Christine’s Beverly Hills office, I was greeted by two smiling receptionists and the environment was warm and welcoming, so I already felt right at home. Then I got to meet with the lovely Joan who talked me through the paperwork to ensure that I would get the optimal results from my peel. She was so nice and accommodating that I felt comfortable and at-ease.
Then I was escorted into a room where I was prepped by Dr. Christine’s assistant for the VI Peel. The prep included making sure that my skin was super clean so that the chemical peel could be as effective as possible. They cleaned my skin with acetone and witch hazel and gave me a little fan to use to ease the smell of the cleaning products which shows that they are really thinking about my experience as a client.
Next, Dr. Christine asked me about the current state of my skin and what my skincare goals were. It was nice to be able to ask questions about the procedure and it help me achieve the clear and even skin tone that I wanted - without makeup. But when i do have to wear make-up, Dr. Christine suggested using Oxygenetix because it’s a medicated foundation that heals your skin while providing natural-looking coverage.
After my skin was cleansed and we discussed my skincare goals, she applied the VI Peel all over my face and neck. The chemical peel didn’t burn or hurt for me, but some people do experience a tingling and heated sensation. It’s also super important to use sunscreen before, during, and after the treatment. I had to leave on the chemical peel for at least 4 hours before cleansing the skin and applying the at-home towelettes and post peel skin protectant.
But the real skincare magic doesn’t happen until a few days after getting the chemical peel. You get a VI Peel at-home kit to use the night and following few days after getting the chemical peel applied. The night of, I cleansed my skin with the gentle cleanser and then used the follow-up towelettes to apply more the VI peel and then applied the post peel skin protectant to soothe my skin. The next morning, I cleansed my skin, used the the skin protectant, and then used the SPF 50 throughout the day to protect my skin.
At night, I repeated cleansing, towelettes, and the post peel skin protectant. This skincare then repeats for the next two days. That’s when my skin started to peel and flake starting from around my mouth and then moved outward throughout my face and neck. I can’t wait to see the final results throughout the next few weeks as my skin continues to peel, heal, and even out, but my skin already feels smoother and brighter.

Rome Wasn't Built In One Day, Neither Is A Great Smile

They that a smile can be so attractive that it shines the light away from all your other flaws. You’ve most likely experienced this yourself. Someone who you didn’t think was all that attractive, shot you a smile and you suddenly changed your mind. It's the same for both men and women. We’re pre-programmed to respond positively to someone giving us a smile. It's a sign that they mean no harm and that they might be interested in getting to know us. But for those of us that have always been shy about our smile, those things are a little too far out of reach. Or are they? Nowadays you have so many options on improving your smile so you can regain your confidence. These are just some of the things you may want to try out.
Maintenance is key
Rome wasn’t built in one day as the saying goes, and neither will any part of your health. Your teeth, gums, and lips will need to be maintained every single day before you achieve a beautiful smile. Why do we focus so much on what’s inside our mouths rather than on and around it? Our lips and lines around the mouth are just as important as white shining teeth. But start off by flossing every day so food is not left trapped between your teeth. When food rots it becomes acidic which then harms your teeth and stains the surface layers as well. Brush two times a day without fail, no matter if it's the weekend and you’ve just come back from a party. Discipline is the key to maintenance.
Scrub and serum
When you get up in the morning, your face has had natural oils sitting on its surface for hours on end. Thus you cannot leave the house after just using hot water and makeup.
