The Influencer's Guide to a Summer Fashion Haul

Fashion, StyleCandy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

With summer in full swing and with the temperatures on the rise, it’s time to update your summer wardrobe so you can stay cool in style.

Some of my of favorite ways to revamp my summer look is by incorporating pieces like a PrettyLittleThing skirt paired with a bandeau top and a PTY button-up shirt. This way I can leave my button-up open for air and take it on and off as needed when it’s time to cool down.

Another way to update your summer look is by being daring and wearing a dark color in the warmer months. My go-to is burgundy, navy blue, and black because they are unexpected colors during the summertime months and will instantly make your look stand-out from the crowd. PrettyLittleThing has a ton of beautiful dresses to choose from varying colors, textures, and silhouettes.

If you really want to change up your summer look, opt for heels with denim cut-offs and an oversized sweatshirt layered over a tank top. This way you can look casually chic and still stylish. When the temperature goes up, take-off the PrettyLittleThing top and just sport your tank top, shorts, and heels. During the cooler time of day, usually the morning or night, pop back on your trendy sweatshirt.

But don’t forget about a fun and flirty romper or jumpsuit. One pieces are an easy way to elevate any look and PYT rompers fit and hug your body in all of the right places. Let me know in the comments below, how are you staying cool and stylish in this summer heat?

Top 5 Bridal Trends for Summer 2019

Hi lovelies,

The international runways are providing the spring 2019 bride with a wide variety of styles to work with. Think dramatic and opulent styles. The bride is more romantic and less bohemian than in the past. In spring 2019, old is new again as everything else in the fashion industry. Expect to see embellishments, more color, and statement details that will have people talking.

Versailles Overload
It looks like regal fashion is in thanks to The Duchess of Sussex and York. Or, it could be a reaction to fashion's casual and normcore styles as of late. Nonetheless, expect to see confection-like skirts, ruffles, and exaggerated sleeves on wedding gowns. The 2019 Bridal and Couture show went back to yesteryear with large pleated ruffles, Victorian-inspired sleeves, and ultra-high necklines.

Whether you're having a church wedding or an ultra-romantic nighttime event, you'll want to channel your inner Marie Antoinette. The latest fashion showings from Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Viktor & Rolf Bridal, and Valentino Haute Couture have proved that all things royal are in for spring 2019.

Old Hollywood Glam
Boho bridal dresses are slowly on their way out. Designers are focusing on old Hollywood glam once again. Expect to see embellishments, layered skirts, and ruffles. Most of them have pushed it to the limits with wedding dresses that feature feathers, plume, and plush details.

When it comes to old Hollywood glamour, understated is not an option. What may have felt over-the-top or try-hard in past seasons is now in for spring 2019. These feathered wedding dresses feel like something from the roaring 20s. When wearing one of these dresses, style your hair edgy, ethereal, or minimal to avoid looking like a character from The Great Gatsby.

Statement Sleeves
The spring 2019 wedding dresses from Chanel Haute Couture, Galia Lahav Bridal, Rodarte, Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang Bride looked like something out of an episode of Dynasty. Bridal sleeves are coming back in a big way. Most of them looked like they originated in the early 80s. Whether it's a detachable sleeve, puffed sleeve, or raglan sleeve, there are a wide variety of options.

Brides aren't wearing sleeves to cover-up their arms. They're wearing them for that added interest and appeal. Draped and structural sleeves draw the entire to the rest of the look. For an instant wow-factor, opt for detachable poufy sleeves. Wear them for your big walk down the aisle, and then rip them off before you dance the night away.

Haunting Wedding Dresses
There was a particularly haunting wedding dress that captivated everyone at the Gucci Cruise 2012 show. On the catwalk in Alyscamps, Arles was a bride dressed in something that looked as if it came from the 18th century. Her dress was paired with a Gucci crucifix necklace similar to this one from the RealReal but in black. This bridal look was clearly taken from the past for future inspiration. It'll be interesting to see if future brides will be jumping on this haunting trend.

Art on Steroids
The Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 show featured funky designs, iconographic accessories, and mismatched looks from Nicolas Ghesquiere's most shocking collection yet. This fashion show took place in the glorious Louvre museum. He played along with the art theme for his cruise showing on Monday, May 27. Among the haunting live soundtrack were models dressed up in quirky looks that featured curved lapels and spliced sleeves and were paired with thigh-high leather boots with chunky heels similar to the 2019 Archlight Leather Boots from The RealReal

There were also a wide variety of puff-sleeved dresses, similar to the Gucci Cruise show. The Louis Vuitton show didn't show any ghostly wedding dresses. Instead, Ghesquiere's main focus was bringing out each of the model's personalities. It was a perfect combination of his signature looks paired with novelties that the fashion industry thrives on.
