The Style Blogger Guide to Holiday Shopping with Shopify Arrive

LifestyleCandy WashingtonComment

Thank you Shopify for sponsoring this post. Track your holiday shipments in one place with the new Arrive app!

Hi lovelies,

If there’s one thing I love most about the holiday season, it spreading joy and happiness to my family and friends by spending quality time with them and I love gifting them with the perfect items that I know will make them smile.

Since I live on the west coast and the majority of my friends and family are still on the east coast, I love sending them packages and gifts even though I'm far away.

I also love being able to track all of my online packages in one place and in real-time using the new Shopify Arrive  mobile app.

This way I always know when and where my gifts are scheduled to arrive, regardless of the carrier or online store that I purchased them from, and there's no need to worry about going to multiple sites to track more than one package.

In addition to online holiday shopping, heading from one holiday party to the next, is another aspect of the frenzy of the holiday season, but in-between party-hopping I can easily check on the status of my packages using my Shopify Arrive mobile app with its simple, beautiful and easy-to-use design because it automatically syncs with my gmail email account and provides me with accurate, real-time package tracking, while I’m on-the-go.

During the holiday season, I also love treating myself to gifts and goodies that I find online, so I make sure to add those packages to my list on my Shopify Arrive mobile app. Thay way, I know when I need to be home to sign for a package, if needed, or when it’s been delivered at my apartment.

Plus, to make sure that my sensitive information remains safe, Shopify Arrive follows the strict industry standards for information security management which acts as a safeguard to my personal information. This makes me feel comfortable and safe while tracking my packages to my friends and family homes, as well as to my own place.

Happy holiday shopping!

Flirtar App x Augmented Reality

LifestyleCandy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Last night was the launch party for the very first ever augmented reality dating app, Flirtarknown as the “Pokémon Go” for dating by using state-of-the-art technology and smart algorithms to locate a match for you.

We danced at the exclusive upstairs area of Sky Bar at the Mondrian Hotel and hung out with Chloe Bridges and Brandi Cyrus, who arrived to celebrate Flirtar as well. I love how in the app you can see who's around you that's also looking to find love in a safe and secure way.

Using cutting edge technology, the app will pin point nearby matches, while determining compatibility using a simple point of your mobile device by facial recognition. The app also goes a step further and triangulates exciting venues for the two of you to hang out.

Jeeyo App x Candy Washington

EntertainmentCandy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

What I love the most about social media is that I get to directly share my personal stories, ideas, and experiences with you all.

Connecting with you through your comments, questions, and DMs, is super fulfilling, but I've also found another way to connect and share with you all on a deeper level through the Jeeyo App.

If you haven't heard the scoop about the new social media app, then let me fill you in. The Jeeyo App lets you create and add a story about the topic of your choice, and then you can share it in the app for others to view and comment on.

You can gain also followers and follow your favorite accounts to grow your online community on Jeeyo and create a group of content creators around your common interests, passions, and activities.

But what sets Jeeyo a part from other social media platforms, is that other people can add their own pics and videos directly to your story to create a collaborative story that includes tips, advice, favorite things, top suggestions, personal experiences, recipes, fashion trends, and more, from multiple people on the app.

The topic and story ideas that you can share and add in Jeeyo are endless. You can decide who sees your content, how long your story is live, and if people can contribute to your story from a local or global level.

One of my favorite stories that I've shared on the Jeeyo App is what to wear to brunch and where to go to brunch. Based on that story that I shared, I discovered a cool new brunch spot in L.A. called Zinque thanks a story that a fellow Jeeyo App user added to my original story, and I can't wait to check it out!

The Jeeyo App is a great place to connect with others from around the world and discover new places, things, trends, events, and more. Sharing your own experiences is just the beginning, so don't forget to download the Jeeyo App here and let's start posting!

Candy Washington2 Comments

Hi lovelies,

It's the holiday season which means that I need three perfect outfits: one for my birthday, one for the fashion blogger holiday party, and one for New Year's Eve, the most sparkly night of the year. Luckily for me, I have the Donde Fashion shopping app, where I can shop for any outfit right from my phone in seconds.

It makes shopping online super quick, simple, and easy. Plus, I can shop from all of my favorite designers and stores, from Banana Republic, Bloomingdale’s, Forever 21, Free People, Gucci, H&M, J. Crew, Macy’s, Nasty Gal, Net-a-Porter, Nordstrom, Rent The Runway, Revolve, ShopBop, Shoptiques, Target, Topshop, Tory Burch, Yoox, Zappos, to Zara, all in one place.

The innovative shopping app isn't just for clothes, I can also shop for accessories, shoes, and handbags to complete any outfit.

What I love the most about the Donde Fashion app is that it super easy and fun to use. I simply open the app, pick the item that I'm looking for through a simple tap, and then the app guides me through their visual search to find the exact item that I need from cut, color, style, silhouette, prints, and more.

Using the app is like having the perfect personal shopper at my fingertips that asks all of the right questions to curate the perfect shopping cart.

INSIDER FASHION SCOOP:

“On December 17th, Donde Fashion is launching its Universal Shopping Cart, which allows users to add products from different retailers from their shopping cart and only submit payment and shipping information once.”

So be sure to download the app for free for all of the fashion, style, and shopping perks! Additional perks include shopping a range of styles from chic, classic, modern, vintage, boho, retro, athleisure, office attire, cocktail dresses, formal dresses, holiday party outfits, red carpet looks, New Year’s dresses, casual outfits, vacation looks, and honeymoon outfits.

What makes shopping through the app even easier if that you can filter your style picks by free shipping only, price cuts, sales, and by brands. Don't forget to use the Sale Alert Center where you can add your favorite items and the app with alert you when they go on sale.

Alexa Chung announces her first venture into tech by launching social style app ‘VILLOID’

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

When I first started blogging, Alexa Chung was one for my biggest inspirations. She was a DJ, dated a rock star, and had her very own show on MTV. Who wouldn't want that life? Check out below on her latest endeavor, launching social style app called ‘VILLOID.' The app is inspired by the computerized wardrobe in the 90's movie Clueless.

VILLOID is a new social style app set to revolutionize the way you get dressed in the morning, co founded and creatively directed by global style icon Alexa Chung. Similar to Instagram but specifically for fashion and with a buy button, it’s a virtual dressing room on the user’s phone.

“I suppose that scene in Clueless where the computer puts an outfit together from Cher's wardrobe really stayed with me.“ says Alexa Chung. “Clothes are fun, making mistakes is fun, being inspired is fun. VILLOID celebrates the process of getting dressed and showing your friends.”

VILLOID offers users a platform where they can share their style by uploading products and photographs onto a mood board, follow friends and fellow style mavericks, love boards and individual items. For anything they can't live without – there is the option to click the handy buy button and purchase the item. Consider this the paper dolls for the modern age.

It’s the British style guru’s first delve into the world of technology, an area she didn’t know a vast amount about when she teamed up with tech entrepreneur Jeanette Dyhre Kvisvik and her team who had been working with a similar idea.

Alexa and I immediately bonded, merging our ideas and utilizing her style genius, we have managed to make the best dressed app on the market.” says Dyhre Kvisvik.

“I wanted to get to learn something about a field I knew nothing about and I felt I could offer the tech field something I knew a lot about….clothes. Most decisions I make when it comes to new projects are based on whether it could further my education. The tech world was something I was incredibly curious about. Silicone Valley sounds like a bouncy castle I want to play on.” says Alexa Chung

Think of window shopping as a social game, only this this time it exists in the palm of your hand. VILLOID offers an opportunity to view a curated feed of style choices chosen by you, the user.

Take yourself on a journey into the VILLOID world, discover people, endless brands and ways of pairing items together that until now, only ever existed in your mind.

Early adopters of VILLOID include model and singer Pixie Geldof who has already crowned VILLOID as “the most addictive app in life.” One Direction hair stylist Lou Teasdale and British designer Ashley Williams are also devotees. And it’s not just the girls who are fans, British X-Factor judge Nicholas Grimshaw also spoke of his need for a men’s version of the app when he posted on his Instagram: ‘Congratulations to Alexa who is this generation’s Tom from MySpace. Can I do the menswear one? Please employ me @chungalexa’ Watch this space.

The app is now available in App store globally. The Android version is in planning, set to launch late 2015/early 2016.

The stylists offer personalized, spot-on fashion recommendations that pair items from women’s wardrobes with apparel for purchase. All at the snap of a pic and a touch of a screen. In real time.

“Like many women, I longed for a knowledgeable personal stylist to guide me through shopping investments and daily wardrobe choices, enabling me to ask: How do I wear this piece?  How do I take it from day to evening?“ says co-founder Anna Jensen. “Now, I get real-time answers and complete confidence in my look. Every woman wants that sense of self-assuredness, and we built SNAP+STYLE to ensure that we all do.”

Bill McComb, former CEO of Liz Claiborne (now Kate Spade), an investor/advisor for SNAP+STYLE, immediately envisioned the game-changing retailer benefits. “I see in this technology the ultimate tool for a retailer,” says McComb.  “This is a platform that enables brands to take clienteling beyond traditional email outreach. Empowering store level associates to use a social-like interface to tap the power of two-way connection builds a community of loyal brand acolytes. That is nothing short of a very big idea."

Raul Fernandez, veteran tech CEO and Vice Chairman of Monumental Sports and Entertainment (owner of the Washington Wizards, Capitals, and Verizon Center) helped fund and accelerate the development of the business by recruiting Co-Founder CTO Gary Myers and fellow investors Bill McComb, ToddBradley and Marc McMorris.

Explains Mr. Fernandez, "Women are already highly engaged and interested in fashion. This platform provides anopportunity to build on that passion, redefining the level of deep customer interaction to create the most highly engaged community in the fashion space.”
