While you're likely familiar with the work of Eddie Borgo, Jen Kao, and Steven Alan, you may not know Patrick Bradbury. He owns the small, selective PR company Bradbury Lewis, which manages them all. Bradbury got his start as the buyer for early online retailer Girlshop.com and Guyshop.com and was later promoted to PR director, where he honed his skills for turning young designers into fashion press darlings. With his off-kilter prepster style and his eye for up-and-coming talent, he's as well-known as his clients in the New York fashion scene, palling around with insiders like Julia Roitfeld and stylist Keegan Singh. We talked to Bradbury about his Minnesota roots, favorite New York spots, and the rise of online media.

How would you describe your style?
I'm a little bit Jake from Sixteen Candles and a little bit Andie from Pretty in Pink. I grew up in Minnesota, and my style is still very summer on the lake — jeans, tees, tennis shoes ... I'm trying to be a bit more tailored.

What's the first designer item you ever bought?
When the Gucci boutique in Minneapolis went out of business, I bought my mom a special little clutch. I was 10.

Which are your favorite spots in New York?
Steak Frites at Raoul's, biking in Prospect Park at dusk, shopping the spice rack at Dean & Deluca, and summer cocktails outside at Marlow & Sons or Sycamore. Also, the miniature flea market-like shop on Canal between Greenwich and Washington.

Where do you stand on the print versus online debate? Do you think publicists give online media the same weight as print?
I think publicists are certainly starting to, yes. Online is about to be separated into the men and the boys, just like all things. It's a new medium; TV was in the same place when it began.

Which trends are you ready to see retired?
I'm pretty done with Lower East Side sneaker stores and the hip-hop sort of Bathing Ape thing.

What's one item you're saving up to buy?
A house in Beacon, New York.

What's one thing you never leave the house without?
My son, Jack.
