Despite a jam-packed schedule, Samantha Ronson makes time for the important stuff. The superstar DJ recently made a cameo on the CW's addictive 90210 (her favorite couple from the original series? The incomparable Dylan and Brenda), and tonight she's manning the turntables at the Bowery Hotel where her designer sister Charlotte Ronson and PAPER's own Mickey Boardman are receiving Compassion in Fashion awards for their advocacy of anti-fur fashion. After that, it's off to Miami for a G by Guess's Ultimate Remix party at Miami's Dolphin Mall, an appearance at Quo in New York, and West Coast dates galore. Ronson took a few minutes out of her busy schedule to talk about her favorite songs of 2009, and, in light of tonight's event, tells us about her first pet.

What are your favorite three songs of 2009?
Pitbull's, "Calle Ocho," Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind," and Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling."

A few stragglers will not leave your house party at the end of the night. What song do you play to clear the room?
I just turn off the music.

What makes a club a good club?
A good sound system and making sure all of the equipment I ask for is there.

What's the hardest thing about DJing?
All of the travel.

You're DJing at the Humane Society's Compassion in Fashion Awards tonight. Tell us about your first pet growing up.
My first pet growing up was a German Shepherd named Papillion. If the door wasn't open, he'd jump through the window. Needless to say I was slightly afraid of him.
