Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

I just got the insider beauty scoop on how to step into summer with style and I couldn't wait to share the news with you all!

Check out the step-by-step guide below to getting beautified this summer so you can look flawless while enjoying the warmer months.

Step 1  - Exfoliate Your Skin
Incorporate Molton Brown Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod Body Exfoliator into your daily shower routine to transform dry winter scales into soft summer skin . Don’t forget, your face needs exfoliating too! For a brighter, more youthful looking complexion use Josie Maran Argan Exfoliating Cleansing Powder.

Step 2 - Get that Glow
Once exfoliated, build a natural looking bronzed-glow by applying Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Self Tanning Oil to your skin in circular motions using the no-mess mitt.

Step 3 - Create Beachy Waves
Start off with clean hair, turn your head upside down and apply Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist to just the roots. Then, separate hair into small sections and use the John Frieda Styling Tools by Conair Loose Curls Curling iron, curl each section and voilà! Best tip? For natural beachy-looking waves, curl each section in a different direction!

Step 4 - Treat your Feet
Moisturize rough calluses and heels by applying Burt’s Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion to the tops and soles of feet. Then, choose a complimentary polish from Lauren B Beauty Nail Couture.

Tea with Candy: How to start a blog and keep it fresh

Candy Washington1 Comment

Hi lovelies,
If you're interested in starting a blog or if you already have one and want to add some life back into it, then check here are my 5 easy ways to start a blog and keep it fresh.

Tip #1: Write about what you love and what you are passionate about.

For me, this makes creating content easy and fun. I'm more inclined to spend my time, energy, and focus, writing and talking subjects that I'm naturally drawn to and enjoy.

Tip #2: Create an editorial calendar.

I'm a firm believer that if it isn't scheduled, then it isn't real. I don't spend a ton of time on the blog, but the time that I do spend is focused and purposeful. So I set time certain times a week to write, do videos, and share on social media. I use a separate calendar to keep myself on track.

Tip #3: Diversify your content.

In addition to writing blog posts, I love to add in other forms of media and content. This also entices my readers to share my posts. My favorites things to include are:

  • Pictures and images
  • Video
  • Q&A's
  • Guest blog posts
  • Lists

Tip #4: Use a platform that is easy to manage and looks professional.

There are a lot of different platforms that you can use out there to create blogs and websites. It doesn't have to be expensive but it should look professional and represent your personal brand in the best way.

I recommend:

  • Squarespace
  • WordPress
  • Blogger
  • Tumblr

Tip #5: Promote, market, repeat.

I share my posts across all of my social channels and I share them often. But make sure you space out your posts on you social channels so it doesn't come across as spam. I also read other blogs, comment on them, and engage with other blogging networks.

Comment below on how you are going to start blogging and keep it fresh and don't forget to share with your friends. Follow @candywashington for tips.

Tea with Candy: How to deal with a manchild

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Today's "Tea with Candy" addresses how to deal with a friend that is still a manchild but is seeking your help in getting hooked up with one of your friends. Read Susan's question below and check out my video for my answer on how to deal with a manchild - my answer might surprise you.

Hi Candy,

My friend is a complete manchild. He drinks too much when we go out, he's sleeping with multiple girls, and the girls that he does date he pretty much treats like crap. He says that he wants to find a wife and settled down but he still acts like a frat boy. What do I say when he asks me to set him up with my friends who are way too good to be put through the wringer by this manchild?

Help!

Susan from Ohio
