New York Fashion Week: Watch Cynthia Rowley's F/W '15 Digital Runway

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

One of my absolute favorite designers is Cynthia Rowley and since I was stuck in L.A. during pilot season I wasn't able to attend her coveted show during New York Fashion Week but luckily for me, I was still able to watch her digital fashion runway and I wanted you all to be able to share in the fashion genius that is Cynthia's Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

I loved the addition of sheer into her pieces along with the deep purples, blues, and metallic embellishments.

Cynthia Rowley gets sporty with new athletic line

Candy WashingtonComment

Hi lovelies,

Below is my article that's feature on FashionEdits on Cynthia Rowley's new athletic line, enjoy!

At FashionEdits, we believe in fashion meeting function, especially in our fitness gear. But more than just being comfortable, we can also be chic while meditating, practicing our Yoga moves, or striking the latest Pilates pose.

Luckily for us, Cynthia Rowley, the quintessential ‘girls’ girl’ designer, just launched her debut fitness and athletic collection. She revealed the impressive line during her 2015 Spring presentation at New York Fashion Week. The designer uses everything from boxy silhouettes, wetsuits, 80′s inspired trends, floral-printed workout pants, red-white-and-blue and black-white-and-green color palettes, shorts with a scalloped cut-out motifs, and feminine swimwear, to even inspire us to want to look chic while sweating it out on the treadmill or the elliptical machine.

The break-out pieces from the collection were the full body black jumpsuit, the denim-printed short jumpsuit, the pastel color-blocked looks, and yes, even the gold plated bike helmet.  Cynthia’s new fitness line has some must-have pieces because it marries function, fitness, and fashion by one of the coolest designers around. Will you wear Cynthia’s new line? What do you usually sport while at the gym?

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 Recap

Candy WashingtonComment

New York Fashion Week came in by storm, with the snowstorms taking over the streets of New York City and with fashion shows, presentations, and parties. Below is a recap of the must-attend events from fashion week.

Marc Jacobs

The designer that needs no introduction, pulled it off again and closed New York Fashion Week with a bang. Marc Jacob’s fall/winter collection went back to his grunge roots that made him a star in the first place. Not to mention all-of-the buzz around Kendall Jenner’s see-through shirt.

Cynthia Rowley

Cynthia Rowley’s presentation was simply amazing and I loved every piece. My words will fail, so I leave it to the designer herself to describe the collection:

“Fashion evolves at such a fast pace, and I'm always interested in exploring fresh new ways to show the collection. We shot the looks ahead of time so that when people arrived at the Diamond Horseshoe they had already seen the collection. We presented a short film we made in an environment that was a visual feast for all.

A moonbow motif runs throughout the collection. It seemed so optimistic, happy and romantic at the same time. I describe the collection as sporty glamorous with bonded piques, embellished rainbows, stain leaf appliqués and bonded cashmere cardigans that are mixed with polished leather culottes and layered sweaters that are like puzzle pieces that fit together.“ - Cynthia Rowley

Elements Showcase

Kicking off fashion week was the Elements Showcase, your one-stop for up-and-coming breakthrough beauty, health, and lifestyle brands. My favorite booth this year was Indie Lee, “an eco-friendly skincare collection comprised of the finest all-natural ingredients around the world, the line is designed to enhance the face and body with gratifying green glamour and allows you to unleash your inner and outer beauty by combining style and sustainability without sacrifice.” The founder, Indie Lee has an amazing story of surviving a brain tumor to bring happiness and joy to women around the world, one beauty product at a time.

Wildfox

Wildfox Couture was one of my favorite shows and not just because they gave out yummy cupcakes before the show. Every piece was fun and flirty and something that I would actually wear in real life from the rugged yet comfy sweaters to the throwback overalls and hipster dresses. Nicky Hilton graced the front row and every blogger to know was there.

Heather Lawton

One of the most rewarding things about fashion week is finding the next big thing. After leaving Heather Lawton’s fashion presentation, I was convinced that I had. The clothes were sexy and provocative while being relatable and told a story of a girl who is fun, fearless, and ready to stir the pot. I’m excited to watch her fashion star rise.
