Exploring NYC: Top Attractions in Manhattan
Hi lovelies,
While one could spend weeks or even months or years in NYC and still have more to explore, there is also an incredible number of things to do and see “just” in Manhattan. Manhattan is the center and true heart of New York, full of many classic NYC attractions and landmarks. While planning for some time here, it is necessary to plan ahead so you can see the top things you want to and make sure you don’t miss some of the top things to see and do!
Here are some of the top attractions in Manhattan that are must-see’s while exploring NYC:
Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is one of those iconic sites to see at least once in a lifetime. It is one of the most visited attractions in NYC and the seventh-tallest building. For views of the city and the experience, be sure to visit the 86th floor observation deck and give yourself some time to really take it all in.
Chrysler Building
The Chrysler Building, an iconic landmark of New York City, is a must-see skyscraper while in Manhattan. With triangle-shaped windows and that old-world sophistication, this Art Deco style skyscraper is beautiful, has an observation deck, and has a lobby that is also open for a visit.
The Vessel
Built as a part of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project, the Vessel is an art installation and interactive sculpture made up of staircases. Be sure to book ahead to visit!
One World Observatory
To visit the One World Observatory, you hop on an elevator that takes you up 102 stories and brings you to an incredible view of the city. Located inside the One World Trade Center, this is a must-do.
Central Park
Chances are you have seen Central Park in at least a couple TV shows or movies. While Manhattan and NYC in general are bustling and have the incredible vibrancy of the city energy, when you spend some time in Central Park you can stroll along the open paths and be surrounded by green space which offers a beautiful balance. This is a great place to pop over with a coffee to or go for a picnic at.
The MET
Located in Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must while in NYC. With around 2 million works of art, even if you don’t love art and museums, it offers an experience that you can’t get elsewhere.
Time Square
Time Square is a top site to visit in Manhattan and another world-wide famous one. It is always crowded and has massive billboards, and it is a place to absolutely visit while in the city (even if you just stay for a few minutes!)
Rockefeller Center
Rockefeller Center is a popular spot for visitors due to its fun events that it hosts. In the winter time, it has a skating rink as well as a Christmas tree, and it also hosts markets. For another incredible 360-degree view of the city, head to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. And if you want to do some (window) shopping, walk along 5th Avenue right at and near the Rockefeller Center.
This list is not exhaustive in any way, as there is so much more to see such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Chelsea Market, and Carnegie Hall. But this is a great starting place of sites to see while in Manhattan!
