Party for a cause: Indego Africa's annual Ibriori

Indego Africa, is an award-winning, design-driven social enterprise that empowers women artisans in Rwanda to lift themselves out of poverty through market access and education. IA pools profits from sales with donations to fund training programs for its partners in business management, entrepreneurship, literacy, computers, and health. IA's artisan partners' jewelry, home décor, and accessory designs have now been featured in InStyle Magazine and People StyleWatch, and over the past 2 years IA has celebrated design collaborations with Nicole Miller, J.Crew, Anthropologie, and Madewell. The artisan partners continue to capitalize on the training opportunities provided by IA, as many have become celebrated business leaders not only in their communities but at the national and international level. For more info on IA, please check out its website and its online shop.

On Tuesday, December 3rd on the atrium of The DL from 6:30-10:00 pm,  IA's annual Ibirori!, is celebrating of all that IA has accomplished over the past year---not only is it a great party, it's a great opportunity to learn about IA’s transformative mission and incredible artisan partners, to plug into IA’s vibrant community of supporters in New York City, and to get some Christmas shopping done! This year’s event will feature DJ SM spinning African dance music, an open bar from 7:00-9:00 pm, free hors d’oeuvres, and a product table. The attached invitation contains more information about the event and how to RSVP. Check out the Facebook invitation!

If you are unable to attend the event, please consider giving to IA's "Invest for Change" fundraising campaign.  With the help of supporters like you, IA has set a goal of raising $50,000 in 50 days.  The fundraiser ends on December 11th, so there is still plenty of time to give!  Check out our fundraising page for inspiring media of IA's artisan partners and the impact that your donation will have.
